idea for a tow strap and tow supply bed box
are you tired of going into your bed and shuffling around for tow staps, clevis, hooks.... well i was donated this old file cabinet and thought to myself, this things pretty thick. so long story short and about 3 hours at the carwash stripping the old school paint off of it. tadaa! i used a spray on bed liner and went through the whole can, took bout 18 hours to dry. here ya go! i like it only cuz its nice to not have to get into the bed to get supplies. only down side is i cant use the full width of my bed with it in, but its easy to take out.

it's removable, it just sits in there. everything in my bed is. that cabinet is heavy enough with my chains and stuff that it don't move at all when im driving like an ******* lol

This might not work out as well but I am about to build a steel bumper with a winch obviously but in the corners were it turns back with the contour of the truck I was going to cut a lid out and box in the back side so I could put a chain or straps or for instants when i cant get at a good angle to somebody or something maybe a shackle and ****** block. i havnt really settled on the idea yet but i might do it. basically i would have small storage boxes built into my front bumper. though if u think about it when ur riding around it could get a little noisy with the chains rattling around...

Neat idea! But I worry about
a: being able to drop the tailgate when you need to.
b: being able to shut the drawer or open it for that matter.
c: the other toolbox isn't large enough for such equipment?
d: why don't I see an actual recovery strap in there!?? Chain should only be used with a winch, a real recovery strap for yank recovery.
e: did I read nothing is bolted in!?!?!?? You know if you get into a situation where you need to use this equipment, the angle the truck and what not will make that stuff slide around. Bolt it in using nutserts or something.
To the poster above me.....having driven tow trucks and recovery trucks for a few years I can honestly say chains don't just rattle around. Assuming you're packing proper 7/16 or 1/2" chain that weighs quite a bit. I do dig the box idea in the front bumper.....but the same concerns arise of accessibility as I noted above.

true. but as far as space is required for the front bumper boxes for my needs a simple strap, maybe a second hook and a chain incase i bust a strap but since i would have the winch they are more along the lines of just incase situations. i have become some what of a rescue truck so im kinda converting my little ranger in to a light duty service truck. the straps would be just long enough to tow with. and being in the bumber as long as i dont rear end somebody lmao itjust keeps the small stuff from cluttering up in the back
But the feedback is much appricated
