stupid idea?

this could be a good idea or it could be a waste of time... someone that has an extra incondecent bulb layin around and has a can of vht tint spray... just see if u can tint the bulb and see if it looks good... kinda like an anti chrome bulb... someone should try it...

it would appear black instead of amber inside of the housing like if you had black clear corners instead of chrome... like stealth bulbs for black housings

i have insanly bright led bulbs that i love but i just got this idea and thought i would share it with people that might consider using it. i dont think it will have any problems staying on the bulbs cause the spray is ment to stay on lenses year round with rain, snow, and sun beating down on it. if someone tries it take some pics... i think it will look good

I'll try it right now and report back with pics but they won't be installed pics.

I have black chrome etalcast which is very similar to niteshades. Give me a few mins, I'll go do it now.

Ok, so I took my old turn signal bulb which was sorta flaky as you can see, and sprayed it. It's still wet in the pic so it doesnt look that great. Maybe in the morning it'll look better.

that last pic is a pic of a stealth bulb you can find them on ebay. It did not turn out like i pictured it... i still think vht niteshade will lay down better cause it is made to tint, i appreiciate the effort, i would still like to see the finished pics when it is dry if anyone else wants to give it a go, feel free

I used that same paint on my tail lights last year. Similar effect to Niteshades.

tail lights look nice but i think more of a dark black will look better and cover the bulb better... such as what vht nightshade does.

yeah, I know the look you're after, I think it'll look cool too if it works.

WHat about using a plain white bulb, like your tail light uses, and niteshade that? Or do you want/need to retain the amber and have that tinted?

make sure you spray very very light coats. literally mist the paint onto it.
