as someone who has had cruise for most of my driving carrer, buying the truck without in april was a bit of a shock, then the drive from ca to wisconsin didnt help either lol
switching feet, other thing that helps me is driving barefoot for some reason seems to put less stress on my foot arches.

i would offer most of my cruise system for cheap, but i want to keep the cable from the controller to the throttle so i can do what I'm about to suggest.
Get one of the bicycle shifter levers and attach it to the shifter (is it a manual?) and then attach a second throttle cable to that, yeeps do it, I'm going to experiment with it once i get around to it.

i would suggest even an aftermarket cruise control their relativley cheap or just use your foot. I drive all over the southeast in an f-150 with no cruise and crappy gearing the rear. I wear steel toe boots when i drive. You'll either get used to it after awhile of just take breaks, i don't foresee anyone driving 2500 miles straight anyway's...imo. Keep it safe and LEGAL!!

dude, read my thread about putting cruise control on. find a junkyard with your year ranger and get the clockspring, wheel buttons and trim, cruise control servo and cable (cable if it is the same year, if not go to the stealership. Its the best hour of my life i ever spent to install it. i did mine for $85 so if you look around you should be able to do it relatively easy. PM me and ill look at work and see if i have any of the parts you need and ill walk you through the install

You will be fine......until you hit the long straight strips, then you will be bored right out of your skull. Literally you will be driving and get this weird pain look over and be like OMG theirs my skull. I am that bored. LOL not seriously i have driven from Toronto to Fredericton, it is almost 1800 km and the only safe thing to do even if you do have cruise is to take a break every few hrs.
\\best of luck on your trip

speaking of cruise control, i found out on a really long drive in my grand prix, that when the third brake lights burn out, the cruise control stops working! i tried everything, then posted it up on my grand prix forum, and someone was like check your third brake lights,i was like ****ing tool. any serious answers? and he's like i am serious, whadda ya know, it worked!
