I've done the same testing on several vehicles and noticed some are better than others from the factory.
So what were your results from before and after as far as intake temperature goes? What changes were there in MAF voltage from before and after? How much more horsepower do you calculate you made with the drop in air temperature?

If you want a cheap air intake temp gauge, get a battery powered thermometer and route it to the air intake tube. Do you have a problem with pulling in water if you are running that intake setup? The reason I ask is because we are expecting a nice healthy pounding of snow and don't wanna pack my intake with snow.

yeah, this doesnt seem like such a good idea.....i have done the airbox mod, but i also have a stock air box that i can pop in for bad weather or dealer inspections....i pop in the modded one on a good day and i'm feelin a lead foot....but i'm scared to death of water gettin in the engine...i know what can happen.....ughhhh....

There is another type a intake how to on TRS. You take a dryer vent and route it from the cowl on the passenger side to the the airbox behind the fender...make sense? Yeah I didn't think so.. Clickety click
