What to do with center valance hole?

I have some grille mesh lying around that I am planning on painting black and fitting to the cennter valance hole on my ranger.

I was wondering what else I could do though. I was thinking about lights:

(quick paint job)

Anyone done this? Would it be stupid to do it on a 2wd truck that doesn't off-road? They would be clear or yellow (not orange, just copied and pasted that light), and I would try to hide them behind the mesh so they would be subtle, not in your face lol. I have some lamin-x tint so I could wrap that over them to hide 'em.

I have seen it done behind the grill and the valance. If painted the right color it would look killer.

I like the lights. Mesh grille is also good for protection. How about lights behind the mesh and hit 2 birds with 1 stone?

Actually, a front hitch with an attachment to go in with the grill attached. That way when no in use, the grill would be there with the hitch in back.

HAHA - I know what I'm doing with my front hitch this summer.

Mesh grille material painted black will not show up in there... it's been tried before. If you were to make it chrome to match your grille, it may look good.

yea but now you can see straight through to the radiator. im hoping a black grille will mask this somewhat.

decided im not going to do the lights, think it will be too much. if it was a lifted 4x4 i think it would be cool though.

If you put a black mesh in front of a black radiator you will still be able to see past the mesh. The trick is painting the mesh a brighter color and it tricks you eyes into locking on the brighter color when looking directly at it.

Some tow hooks and fogs would hide all that. The DIY Home Depot gutter mesh is, well, you know.

My licence plate and tow hooks block the lower valance anyways. I didn't like the wide open Mazda grille,so I put the mesh in there for a little extra protection.
