Read the owners manual, You can turn teh dinger off. You need to pull the belts full length 3 times with the key in teh acc position. There will be a ' chime ', then you need to pull it 3 more times and it chimes twice ( or something like that ) . My seatbelt alarm has been off for almost 2 years now.

D. are yours bolted to the floor? I'm guessing so
but some people bolt the harness to the back of the seat because of the length of the straps, thats when they become useless.
one other thing D? when you turn the chime off, does that over ride the air bag sensors then? I thought the main purpose of the electronics in the belts were to know when to deploy the bags?

I know on an 2004 you need to set parking brake, make sure your in park or neutrar ignition off doors closed drivers belt unbuckled lights off. now turn ignition to run or on dont start the truck wait untill the belt light goes off (approx. 1-2 minuts) then buckle and unbuckle the belt 3 times ending with the buckle unbuckled turn lights on and off then buckle and unbuckle three more times.(this needs to be completed within 60 seconds) the seat belt light should come on for 3 seconds. then buckle and unbuckle within 7 seconds. the confirmation is that the light will flash 4 times per second for 3 seconds. hope this helps. my light comes on still but gose out after a little bit.
