After a mini road trip this past weekend, I had an idea. In the glove box were some spent .44 mag cases. So I thought "what the hell..."
Step 1. Remove the inner door panels, trim rings and lock buttons. (if needed). No pics of this, if you need help doing this just ask.
Step 2. Mix the epoxy and clean the cases. I used bedding epoxy because thats what i had on hand. JB weld or any 2 part epoxy would work fine.
Step 3. Pour the A LITTLE! epoxy into the cases and inset the pins, clean any excess epoxy ASAP!
Step 4. Allow the epoxy to set up and enlarge the holes in the trim rings (if needed, the .44s were a tad larger than the holes, but I bet .357 would fit fine.) I used a 1/2 drill pit and held the rings in my gloved hand. This was so that if the bit "caught" it would spin the ring and not break it. Then drink a few beers and wait....(no pic- sorry)
Step 5. Admire your work and drink another beer.
Step 6. Install the panels, trim rings and door lock pins. Adjust the pins so they are close to flush with the trim rings.
Step 7. Make a thread here and drink another beer.
(mods. if this is in the wrong area, please move it.)
