Respectable lift on a '99?

Just became the owner of a cracking 99 ranger, got a great deal i couldnt pass up, my first truck and loving it. Always loved sitting high in trucks and the ranger seems it could be a tad higher. I'm not a showy person and don't want to be sky high. Wanted to know of any other owners have the same taste and what size worked for them. Also cost/difficulty for diy and what cautions to know about when doing this. Got 150k on it and wanting a ton more!

Welcome to the site.

Being as your truck is coil sprung and 2wd, you have a few lift options:
-coil spacers (2")
-lift coils (2")
-lift spindles (3-4")
-body lift (3").

All of those are fairly easy to install, and can be done in the driveway with mostly basic tools.

As far as how high you should go, that's up to you. Rangers can't exactly be "jacked sky high" very easily, but a more aggressive stance and being able to see eye-to-eye with the full size guys is totally doable.

Here's my truck lifted 4" on 33s. (It's 4wd, so it sat ~2 taller to begin with)

If you are planning to stay on the road, go with a body lift.
