THIS was my stance. But your foolish comment says LOADS about your character.

I don't have the Ranger manual in front of me, but isn't there a section that explains how to load your truck? Considering what you're trying to do goes AGAINST the laws of physics and safety, we just wanted to know why. I wasn't bashing you for you choice.

But now I'm bashing you for your lack of comprehension skills.

EDIT: Just to make it CRYSTAL CLEAR. My post is towards the OP and NOT Mr. Joinedinseptember-weez
and huh?? i didnt say anything about not using a trailer. the only time i'd use the sled deck is if i was going to a race myself and i dont need to be hauling tires and ****. if i have to be hauling tires and **** then i will throw the mowers on a trailer and the tires in the bed of the truck.

Getting a truck dirty and making it unsafe are two different things.

Before my original question, there was no mention of a trailer (at least I didn't notice it). THAT'S why I asked what I asked. I knew that you probably heard of those nifty inventions called "trailers" but I didn't see a logical reason why you didn't wanna use one.... hence my question.

If you had replied with the bolded section instead of insulting me, we wouldn't have what you called a "misunderstanding".

are you going to email that company and tell them they made a completely unsafe product and they should take it off the market because it might cause there truck to roll over with a load on top of the cover. just stop with all your safety crap if the Department of Transportation approves. these cover and other racks. they must be safe. so get off your damn high horse

it wont be hauling anything more than about 800lbs, two racing lawnmowers cross ways, they fit perfect cross ways in the truck now but have to hang the front tires over the bedrail and it scratches it too much.. then i will have room underneath it for the gear and fuel.

im thinking 2 squares made from square stock steel, then 3 horizontal braces between the bedrails, then 2 more on the ends. then probably 4 hooks on each side, and a headache rack for the front to protect the rear window..

sound like a plan?? i should probably build this soon, then its ready when i get my truck back on the road and racing season starts in 3-4 months. it will be built to only hold 2 mowers, if i need to haul more then we will throw them in the trailer. what do ya'll think??

course every thread is useless without pictures so this is what im doing now but like i said before it scratches the bedrails too much.

i highlighted it for ya.. yes i plan on building myself a trailer too for the mowers. most of the time when dad and i go racing together we use his truck and his 16ft cargo trailer to haul the mowers, tires, straw bales, gear, fuel, oil etc. but since my parents show goats sometimes they head off to vancouver island or something with the trailer. now that i have 2 mowers myself i need an easier way to haul the mowers by myself. plus i have a friend that has a racing mower too and he cant throw it on the roof of his cavalier so he'll need a ride, thus building a trailer.. then i can haul my 2 mowers on the sled deck and the friend's on the trailer and still have underneath the deck for gear.

also i dont want to tow a trailer to races if i dont have to.. its a real pain in the *** to put two 300+ pound mowers cross ways in the back of a pickup by yourself.

Actually, I don't go telling people that they're wrong in every thread... just that ONE thread about the flipped ranger speeding around a turn.

You, however, have been following and commenting on my posts. Do you have some lovin' for me Downey? Sorry, but I don't go that way.

O.P.I.N.I.O.N. Everyone's got one. I was stating mine and asking a question since I didn't fully understand why the OP wanted to do that.

Others have stated the same exact opinion as me... why don' you go show them some downey love. I'm sure they'll appreciate it too.

I definitely did miss that. I apologize for my missing of that statement.

Everything makes sense as to why you would want/need to make a sled trailer. Again, I was in no way bashing you for you choice... I just didn't understand and wanted to know more. But i still don't appreciate your initial comment towards me.

well tony im so sorry about that.. i read it that you were giving me **** about being "unsafe" and i totally agree with you about it.. but what i dont understand is makes it more "unsafe" than say a half ton with a sled deck and 2 quads on it?? like really?? there's not much difference there.

I posted my opinion as to why I didn't think it was a good idea. Then I posed a question to get more information to perhaps understand his thinking.

Explain to me HOW that is bashing someone? Unless you need to take some reading & comprehension lesson, I guess I could see how that could be considered "bashing".

Again with the lack of comprehension skills. I was referring to your 4 posts in this thread (which I quoted for you to see) that had nothing to do with the project at hand.

Even if you are helping Martin through AIM, you still found the need to come into the thread just to bash me. I wouldn't call that "helping Martin"... would you?

I just stated that I wouldn't do it 'cause I think it's too risky. Then I asked about the use of a trailer.

I see no bashing in there at all.
