Someone please help!!!

Hello, I need everyone's opinion on some new ideas I would like to do for my 3.0 v6 ranger. first any ideas on an electric fan? I've heard the fan from a 3.8 Taurus fits and maybe one from a Lincoln but I don't know the specific car! if anyone has done the electric fan and could give some pointers or maybe pictures that would be greatly appreciated!!!

Also any opinion on mufflers. I have looked and I don't want a glasspack there just cheap and don't last all that long. But I was thinking more along the lines of a flow master 40 are they good? does anyone have one? Also would like it stainless not aluminized steel crap. So any opinion or idea would help.

One more thing. What are some ideas to maybe increase gas mileage by maybe like 1-3 miles to the gallon? seriously any ideas are welcome.

Thank you for reading!

Dual exhaust.Expensive but has been done.I had a Flowmaster 40 on a 3.0 liter Ranger once, but the mild drone didn,t agree with me,but I wear a hearing aid so thats just me.Short of running it off propane I think 1 to 3 miles to gallon would be about it

Hey 97, looks like you and I are getting started at about the same time. I'm a novice myself but here are a few ideas to bounce around.
-I'm going to pull those rear bucket seats because I don't need them. Lightening up a vehicle means less work for the engine ->> better mileage. So if you don't need something, chuck it. I believe I read somewhere that 100 pounds = 1 mpg, but don't quote me.
-Checking tire pressure, changing oil, keeping the air filter clean, and one big thing that was recommended to me was plugs and wires. All standard work, but sometimes we forget/get too busy.
-Lowering. To an extent, lowering your truck will increase your gas mileage by a fraction.
-Staying away from bigger tires. Changing from the standard tires to a bigger set of A/T's slaughtered my gas mileage.
I'll probably keep an eye on your post, man. Wish you all the best in your build!

hey 2000 thanks!!! too bad I already lifted mine. I got some cab lights on my ranger, installed those blue LED interior lights, and a bunch of other stuff. I need to get some pics up on this. and I know all that stuff I detail my truck at least once a year usually twice, oil change usually around every 3000-4000 miles. air filters you name it. I just care too much about it.

The electric fan will help with MPG it was one of the first mods i did and i could definitely tell. However some people argue otherwise. The taurus fan is more than sufficient even here in the Georgia sun mine never struggles. The lincoln mark8 fan works but the aftermarket replacements are expensive. So for reliability i bought a TYC replacement for the 3.8 so it was new got it for about $60 on ebay far more reliable than the used ones floating around. The newer ranger 4bangers came from the factory with an efan but its a one speed and will not cool the 3.0 but the shroud its in can be used to mount the taurus fan to the ranger radiator for a more factory look. Also be sure two get a quality controller i cheaper out at first and burned up two cheap ones so its better to start with a good one. For the muffler i use a pro-flo they are made for v6 motors and sound really good you can watch a youtube video of one on a ranger if you search it. if you need any pics or more help let me know and ill see what i can get for you.

I think maybe a flow master 40 might sound alright but a flow master 44 probably sound little better. i think the 40s are more for 2.3ls
