Royal Purple?
Who uses it?
I am going to be filling my truck up with it tomorrow along with the Royal ICE additive in my coolant.. Is there any noticable difference from Royal Purple to say quakerstate?
Is it worth the $9 a bottle i just paid lol?
I have read everywhere that Royal Purple is the best oil you can get, so i figured with the new heads and gaskets i would give my truck the best lol.

I've always ran Royal Purple with 5k intervals since buying the truck at 30k. Put 110 on the original engine and pulled the valve covers to see a prestine engine with no gunk.
Can't say anything about the radiator additive, though I considered it when tossing in this new engine.
Back to RP engine oil...holy ***** the price has been rising and rising the past couple of years. Used to be $5 a quart, and I just paid $8 a quart the other day. Same with my K&N oil filter...used to be $9-10, now it's $15. WTF.

I've ran both Mobil 1 and RP and honestly didn't see much of a difference. Now this last time I was a DA that forgot when I changed my oil and actually went 10k between my last oil change. The RP wasn't as dark as my Mobil 1 with 5k miles. The price is one reason I'm glad I work part time at Advance so I get the discount.

Aside from lubricating moving parts in an engine, oil's other job is to keep contaminants and dirt in suspension.
When oil gets dirty, it gets dark. Darker it is, more crap it's keeping in suspension.
Mobil 1 being dirtier than the RP, means one of two things:
1. You had more contaminants and dirt at that time or
2. The RP doesnt keep the dirt in it as well.

apparently RP is better than Mobile 1.. no idea who did what study but thats what the service manager at work said.. I get Royal Purple at 5.50/qt so its not too bad.
$33 for 6 qts in the Chevy. I can live with that.
I saw it at orilleys for like 8.99/qt haha

is it good yes, is it worth 9$ a quart no, most honda tuners i know that use rp change it at 2500 mile intervals. mobil 1 extended performance has more of the additives they took out of mobil 1 a while back. if you want a premium synthetic and were in the mood to spend money like that you need get the German Castrol Syntec, do not get the Amercian Syntec at your local auto store b.c. that stuffs barely better then dino oil.
