Icon6 $900 firebird engine work

bought this car for 900 bucks because it had high idle and a oil leak. even with the high idle it was pulling 24mpg around post....first thing is fixing the 1700rpm idle it has..tore apart the intake manifold to find very bad gaskets..the grey stuff in the pics is what the previous owner tried to fix the intake leaks..lol i found out its spray on duct tape. im removing the lower intake manifold tomorrow because i ran out of daylight..im cleaning the upper and lower intake manifold in the parts washer at work..this is my hooptie car to save on gas because the ranger is pulling anywhere from 12 to 15mpg around city/post

lol they have spray ion duct tape and why would he use it the intake gasket isnt that expensive gonna be a nice lil getarounder when shes done good find

forgot to take pics after i cleaned the intake manifold..i installed new seals and let the intake manifold sit in a parts washer all day and when i pulled it out it was clean i did alittle scrubbing and installed it..fixed my high idle issue but still got to get the oil leak fixed..have to get it on a lift to see exactly where it coming from..

top end completely tore down..found my oil leak it was on the backside of the lowerintake manifold..it was pouring oil out..taking these parts to the parts washer and going to clean them and install new seals in them and reinstall

18.99 for the complete top end seal kit
12.99 for temp sending sensor
8.99 195 degree thermastat
5.99 radiator hose adaptor to lower intake manifold
free gasket maker army ftw
free parts wash army again
free brake cleaner "


trip to the emergency room for slicing my wrist open down the vein..free free medical ftw..haha

this car has 200695 miles on it and after this work it runs and drives great
next project is replacing the front and rear brakes then i will start fixing it up like pulling the huge dent on the driverside and finding the headlight cover..then rims and **** like that

so does the army offer counseling?? slittin wrist to vein doesn't sound good or like an accident lol

it was funny i showed up at the er and the first theing they asked is if i was suicidal and i immediatly replyed with if i was do you think i would have drove 15minutes to refer myself to the hospital? lol next thing i said is do you think i would have covered myself in automotive grease just to cover my story..lol..the lady laughed and told me that she had to ask with the type of injury i had..haha
