ok, accouple questions

on the ABS, what did you have to change? Do you think an 1999 ABS module off a 4x4 would work? And what exactly did the tech at ford have to flash?

And what did you have to modify the shift linkage? And why?

Awesome work Mark, what would be involved in doing this to a manual trans truck?

Wow hate to bump an old thread, but I'm thinking of this swap after the snow we've had lately and how much nicer it is to have 4wd.

I know 04 EDGE isn't around anymore, so I'm hoping someone else knows the answers to my questions.

If I were to do this swap I'd get the transmission and transfer case from an 01-03 with 4wd and a 3.0. What I'm curious of with the electronic shift t-case, are the wires already there in my truck or would a bunch of custom wiring be required to have the shift on the fly switch?

Also would a new PCM be required with the new transmission and transfer case? Probably sourced from the donor truck (assuming I have one).

Also 04 EDGE had to weld another bracket on his framerail. Is that piece present on 01-03 2wd Edge trucks? I ask because the stopped putting holes in the front crossmember for towhooks in 04. I didn't know if this was another thing they stopped.

ABS Pump. He replaced his with a 4x4 one. Is that necessary in all years with the swap? Or just because it was an 04?

Gauge cluster. If I go through the trouble of adding the switch and related parts, is the 4wd bulb holder built into the factory cluster or will I need to switch that out as well?

I'm sure I'll have more questions, but for now that is all. I may start a new thread later. Thank you!

The switch is there on the cluster. You just need to hook it up. I have it on my 98 2wd cluster.

Why not go with manual t-case instead of auto? That might make the swap easier.
