downtravel

Had some driving shaft issues in the front but it should be corrected this week, to much down travel. We maxed the double joint even before the drop.

Finally had time to make the front driveshaft (well not me but my friend). We had a major trouble with normal cv joint at ride heigh the joint at the yoke was an inch over so ill be the first to test wide angle cv agricultural joint for them.

nice rig!

seems odd that your driveshaft maxed out on down travel?

how much droop do you have?

After looking at your 3 link setup i would imagine your caster changes as well as your pinion angle during droop, which makes the driveshaft change angle as well.

Didnt want the third link to be on one side only, wanted it in the middle so the easy solution was to raise the mechanic 3 inch has i have a 3 inch bl, it gave us the clearance we needed plus theres no mechanic under the frame rail ill just have to put a nice flat pan to protect everything. For the drop at ride heigh i have 9 to 10 inch of downtravel plus the mechanic is 3 inch higher so the driveshaft has a lot of angle on it.

Nice 9”er, sweet… I have a question though and not criticizing.
The Detroit, yes by far the best locker out there, yes the locked rear is a must for off-roading.
Since the back of the Ranger is sssooo lite and the Detroit may never differentiate, why not just run a spool, a lot cheaper ?

Again your call not mine but just thinking on it.
I am running a D60 in the rear of a Jeep (CJ8) w/Detroit and it does not let go at all and corners are all chirps.
If I had it to do again and to save some money I guess a spool would be a good idea.
Just wanted to hear what you thought.

Ltr,
