Too bad your not closer, I had to replace the head gaskets on mine a while back, and it'd be a breeze for me.

i dont know but i wanna find out who the hell took it. anyways i went and borrowed some tools from a buddy of mine and got back to work. right now its sitting down to where its just the heads and exhaust manifolds left. so far so good no major damage yet. but its starting to look like all of my coolant passages are starting to stop up :( no pics of it yet though.

ok guys its been a little while but i finally got the time to work on her again. after breaking one of the rocker arm bolts and lots of manifold bolts i finally got the heads off. ill post pics soon. the block ans cylinder walls are safe and sound, unfortunatly i have cracks in both heads. these cracks are wide enough i can put pennies into them. now i have decided that since the price of heads are so high, i will not fix that engine. instead i have just purchased a small block 302 that needs bearings. it is already torn down to where all i have to do is spin new bearings in it and put it together. this only cost me 100 bucks where as the heads are 195 per side. so as you have figured out this is now a v-8 ranger project. it will take me some time to get it done due to money, but it will be done. if anybody has any advice please feel free to let me know whats on your mind.

If the 302 spun the bearings i would not just throw some new ones in and call it a day.Do it right and just do a full rebuild do you really want to ****** the engine out when it spins the bearings again?
