Led bulbs

I ordered 3157 led bulbs, to use as tail lights but I ordered the wrong ones I’ve read online that you can use 3157 as 3156 which is what I want 3156 to use as backup lights I guess my question is is it true you can use 3157 as 3156?

Not sure where you got that from but NO

3157 is a dual-filament bulb producing 402 lumens from the bright filament and 38 lumens from the dim filament, at 12.8 volts.
3156 is a single-filament bulb producing 402 lumens from its filament, at 12.8 volts
One is for dual use, i.e. park and brake lights
The other is for single use, i.e. turn or reverse light

If the wires line up you may be able to use a 3157 in a 3156 socket and get the brighter filament to light up
