yea.. Eric, those brackets aren't on Casey's truck cause they met my torch.. and lost.

 

looks awesome.. Cut those bump stop brackets off and when its on the ground you wont have any hitting of the coils to the upper control arms!

 

lol, I thought I told someone the coils would hit the shock... and do yourselves a favor... put a bumpstop SOMEWHERE... you don't want you bumping hard to the point where the coils collapse completely and bind.. when that happens, something WILL break and I'm sure it won't be the brackets... let's just say it would be time to repair your c/o's... also, don't forget limit straps, since there is not much you can do to avoid the coil fron contacting the upper arm...

anyone run a lower control arm bracing like RCD does after coil swap? because the T-bars do act as one?

also thought installing DBR's lower control arm back connector bracket would be a good idea anyways in general

 

Control arm brace bar things that are on the RCD's is an aguement that can go on forever...

But the DBR item you talk about. Mind posting some pics and links on what exactly youre talking about?

 

this went almost exactly how my install went... Did you have to grind down your upper brackets? I had to cause they rubbed the top of the shock (found that out the hard way, f-ed up my right shock a little). The welding on the brackets SUCKED by the way so I just cut them apart and rebuilt them.

LOL at buying the hardware (it was supposed to come with the brackets... of course it didnt though)

I had to cut the bumpstops off completely to make the coils fit... Not sure what I am going to do about bumpstops now. Anyone have any suggestions on that?

My coils do NOT rub the UCA's at full droop... weird.

Other than that... no complaints. Pretty straight forward install.

 

08xl....no I haven't had to grind down the upper bracket, it clears fine. I think with the bumpstop bracket I'm going to grind it "DOWN" and still bolt that bracket up. If I can find some way to put a bumpstop in there I will. But for right now I'm not worried about it. As far as limit straps still working on a location for those. Due to where the gussets go, you loose your upper hole where superlift wants you to put it.

Zach, those bars as shane said are a can of worms. Some people scream bloody murder when you don't use them, saying you need lateral stability....what most don't realize is that they are damn near pot metal, thinner than exhaust tubing and are worthless if they are supposed to be there for "lateral stability"

You see where i cut that bump stop bracket? You also see that hole there in the middle of that bracket thats cut off? See the Diff bracket hanging down? I just bolted it back in to place. Done :)

I told you it would. Should have took my advice.

The UCA's will only hit the coils at full droop when they have not been compressed or have been compressed very little. When you adjust them to level the front with the rear they won't rub.

 

I plan to install some. Just need to finish getting them painted up. I will post pics when I get them installed.

 

So the Superlift uses the bumpstop hole for a diff bracket?

This is what RCD uses.


I grinded it down good to make sure I had plenty of clearance. I don't have that hole left.

It's more of a support brace. Doesn't really serve much purpose.

 

I am more than likely going to do something with my set-up to incorporate a Fox bumpstop and can; just not sure how I want to do it yet.

 

Thanks. But I don't understand why Stone even suggested that.... Superlifts ADD a new crossmember back there where there isn't one stock. And, as you can see in that pic, LCA's aren't dropped. This idea is invalid to a Superlift or an RCD guy.

 

tiss true. I wasnt even thinking about that. But could somthing like that be made to mount on the lower crossmember?

 

ya i wasnt even thinking about superlift DUR. i was thinking stock idk why. i still would install it for stock hell i am even debating it when I run coils

yeah I drove it around the block. Got it to settle an inch lower. But man I gained about 2 inches, cause my antenna doesn't like my garage door at all now...LO
But the drive is unreal. Soooo much better.L
