3.0 Supercharger is a go!

Finally got my Supercharger and all the goodies to make this setup work. Ill take pics and do a wright up the best I can.

After I do some more research I plan on getting into in the next week or so and I'm hoping to have my truck apart for no more than a week but that depends on the machine shops timing. Along with my worthless know how a guy I know is doing alot of this work with me who has done things like this before so I'm placing my truck in his hands basically.

First thing first though I'm going to clean up everything with a bit of sandblasting and repainting.

Let the fun begin!

Total price so far:

Supercharger, intercooler, intake and plumbing: 125$

Was going to say why are you spending all that money for a supercharger, but 125, go for it, then you can hang with us 4.0 guys

No way in hell I would do this for what the new ones cost but for 125$ I couldn't pass it up. Plus if for some reason it falls through I could always sell it on Ebay for much much more.

I wont just be hanging with you 4.0 guys lol.

Yeah but D. your truck is hardly a 4.0 anymore!

Regardless, a stock 3.0 with a whipple is nearly exactly a stock 4.0 SOHC. The OHV 4.0 is a bit different though and I'm not sure where it falls, but I think somewhere between a stock 3.0 and a stock 4.0 SOHC.

Ok well any stock or close to stock sohc I'll beat. Plus after I get the tuner and gears along with my intake and exhaust I'm sure Ill be able to hang with the modded. Hopefully

Basically I just want to kill my friends 4.0 ohv which I don't see being a problem.

Nice man. I've been debating finding an extra 3.0 and building it up and putting together a turbo setup with intercooler. Not so much to go fast, but for more power. Call its a mini superduty haha.

[QUOTE=D.]
Our friend here is ( hopefully ) going to adapt the thunderbird exchanger ( innercooler ) to keep things ' cool '.
QUOTE]

I'll put it out there one more time, I do have ALOT of learning to do. Thankfully the guy whos helping does know alot and I trust him to do it right since he also builds funny cars and other go fast cars.

To help me in my learning proccess do I have basically everything needed except the custom parts to make this work and keep it cool?

He has a 99 4wd auto with no mods on BFG A/T's. When my truck was stock I wasn't to far behind him but now its about as quick as an I4.

I'd like to see this for the ' smoke show ' when you both mash the gas and neither truck hooks

Something that will help ( greatly ) , find a used set of James Duff bars and ( you might have to grind on them a bit ) and hook them up to prevent wheel hop. New they were less then 100$.

It will eliminate spring wrap and wheel hop for ya.

Already have JD bars and an Eaton posi unit. It would be nice to actually be able to smoke my tires even though I wont because they cost to much, right now I cant even get a chirp outa them.

In that sense it is a good thing but I dont race my truck and it's not meant for high speeds at all. I'm just looking for as much power or torque out of this as possible. All the extra power also makes me conserned about my tranny but my guy on this tells me not to worry but I cant help it. Also what other support mods do you suggest besides the Bama and gears?
