Absolutely amazing!! Hats off to you two!

And plans to detail how you did the wiring? Im very curious what you had to do to make everything work.

i walked beard through the wiring(he did most of it himself) over the phone, i just had to fix the loose ends... there is no way i will sit down and take the time to explain all of it!

this is what i had to do to wire a 4.6dohc into my grand marquis:

Can't wait for the first vid of it screaming up a sand dune and getting air.

Hopefully the exhaust will make it sound more throaty and less tractor-like. The vids probably don't do it justice as far as sound though.

I agree with Nick. It was a royal pain to do. I mean I might be able to do it again faster but it was not fun. When we finished I had a ton of labels on stuff. I opted to just take all hte labels off because i felt it was right and I never documented anything. I feel like I should have now though. lol. Sometimes I roll that way though get too excited and just move on.

Imagine taking the ranger harness, take all the loom off and cut out every wire that is engine, abs, trans, fuel, emisions stuff you dont need. That leaves like heater, lights, etc.

Now do the opposite to the navigator harness. Pull out all the lights, emissions, accessory junk.

Now you have to leave connectors. All Ford products run stuff into cab light ignition etc. the plugs and wires are different. You have to track each one down in the ranger and match it up to the ones in the navigator you now need to use. Then splice them together. Then you have like pcm stuff, pats stuff, fuse boxes, relays, blah blah just a bunch of stuff that needs spliced, removed...

Those wiring diagram books are a must.

here is a picture of me working on the one fuse box from the navigator

a little bit. I dont want to bring it home until winter is over though, just too much salt and brine on the roads. it would destroy the truck.

Hah, I was just thinking "man I bet Nick's neighbors are thrilled..."

How does the high stall torque coverter feel? Sounds like it allows it to rev a bit.

It has a stock converter in it. I wanted to wait on the transmission. See how it holds up first. It seems ok at this moment but it is hard to tell. Right now it has not been rebuilt or even touched.
