well for the past 2 months my truck has been out of commission with bad ball joints, a broken leaf spring and sagging torsion bars... over the past few weeks i have been collecting parts and installing them... i got new MOOG upper and lower ball joints, MOOG tie rod ends, #1 spring rate torsion bars, 6" skyjacker leaf springs and new bilstein 5100 shocks... basically im doing everything i should have done when i lifted it the first time

It's always weird for me to look at the front end on a 2wd torsion bar truck. lol..so used to seeing cv shafts there!

i drove it after i finished the front and i loved how it felt... so smooth

What would you say the difference in height between the stock leafs with AALs and those Skyjackers was?


edit- I just noticed the rear sway bar, is that stock?

 

you will love those springs...

 

the truck should be the around the same height... i removed the blocks and went back to the stock shackles

the swaybar is stock... most single cab rangers came with one

well its finished... i don't have any pictures yet but i can say it rides so smooth now... i just got back from sam's club and target in slidell and it was so smooth... i need to let the new springs settle in and get the torsion bars set where i want them so i can get it aligned

for those who are thinking about the skyjacker leaf springs i would advise you to get them... i did have to widen the hole on the spring plate to fit the leaf spring bolt but that might be avoided by getting a set of spring plates off of an older ranger... other than that they were a direct bolt in despite only being advertised for pre 98 rangers

 

That is good that you like them. They are awsome springs.

The centering hole in the spring plate is normal. We had to do it to Maurice's truck when we did his '97 Ranger.

 

so how much lift did you end up getting out of the new springs? are you sitting the same height as you were before?

its almost the same exact height as before... i will get pictures as soon as i find my camera

I love this truck!

I actually just bought these skyjacker springs for mine. They were completely bolt on correct? No moding of the shackles or anything?(just making sure before I start installing them this week)

 

will those same bilsteins from a 2wd fit a cranked 4x4?
