Well, some of you will like them, some will hate them. The tires are too small, i know. They are almost brand new so i will use them this winter, then go with a set of 35's after. I am digging the big 20" wheels though. I think they show the axle placement extremely well.
As you can see, I only cleaned 1 wheel real good. (These were given to me from my step dad. I did have to buy adapters to fit 6 lug Chevy wheels though.... More on those later....)

It's not an Offroad truck anymore. I'm keeping the winch on because it still gets used as a work truck. The doubler and all that mess is coming out once I can afford a new power train. Body is getting completely redone, and the interior is getting changed to the newer version with a couple custom touches. It's hardcore Offroad days are over

Well, here is a little update on ol D-Ranged.
It still looks pretty much like it did. I have began collecting parts for the ultimate rebuild: D-Ranged Even More....
Most of you already know what the rebuild will consist of. I do have a lead on a takeout from a donor truck, but until its sitting my garage, it is just window shopping.
I also talked to my buddy at the Junkyard and a loaded 4 door cab (seats, carpet, electronics, blah, blah) for 800 bucks. Sounds like a pretty good deal, but then again there isn't really a lot of people selling an entire cab off their truck.
As for the bed, I have a new one already. Its sitting at dad's, waiting the install.
I know John is wanting me to stop lollygagging so he can get the soon-to-be-his doubler setup. lol
D was in our Christmas cards though, as it has played a huge role in Kristy and I's relationship. Here are a couple pics for the Christmas Season

Been a while since I updated you guys on D Ranged. It's been serving as the dd through this "winter" but last week I found a deal I couldn't pass up. 2001 Ranger xlt with 127k on the ticker for 1000 bucks. It's a 4 door, auto, power everything, clean title, and in pretty good condition other than one minor detail....
Well, the PO never turned it in, so the title is still clean. It's also a 2WD. We will be moving the engine, harness, trans, cab, and bed from the 2001 frame to D's frame.
So this brings up a few questions....
* What needs to be done to reset the airbag system?
* What transmissions will bolt up to the 3.0? Remember this is a 2001, so it's OBD2
* are the fuel and brake systems the same on obd2 trucks as obd1 trucks?
So now raises the "I thought you were putting an LS engine in it?? I was. Then I was gifted a 1968 C20 Longbed 2wd that will be a following project. The engine and trans combo will be worth more in that, and it allows D to maintain "factory" ford stuff. This also allows me to keep it as a DD.

A friend of mine gave me some info on the fuel and airbag system. The 3.0 runs a completely different fuel system than the 4.0 or 2.3, so it's looking like the gas tank from the tan truck will be coming out too.
Found out the airbag system is only requiring new bags, nothing else. (or so I was told).

Yes and no.
All of the tan truck is going on the yellow frame. Then being painted yellow.
If the 2wd trans is good, it will go in until I acquire a 4wd trans. I have a buddy who can convert it to a 4wd, so I may just do that. It will be a 4wd again though. I still have to rebuild the front axle.
Also dropping the BGTL wheels. Going back to a 17" wheel with 35ish tire. It's not that I don't like the Twinkies, just don't like the price of tires for them. And I don't like the adapters. Thinking of disc braking the rear, and sticking with a 5x5.5 lug pattern

I would look at the little dent on the front a cool cowl hood. Plus a nice easy to find/use always handy napkin coming out of your steering wheel mod is rare and convenient to have. Just for those options alone it is worth the price. lol No really good find. Sweet that's still a clean title. A day or two of work should fix that up. As long as you have all the parts with you and ready to go. Paints cheap and factory color makes it nice. Good job dude.

hahaha Ohhh I see. You are using this truck now. I should have read the posts after the pic. I just skimmed and thought I would put my 2 cents in. lol I figured this was just going back to stock. An easy fix and just paint matching the front end to the body...Well can't wait to see this build as well then. haha

Oh ok. That's understandable. Now excuse me if I'm wrong but did you say this is going to be your new rig? 4x4 swap sas etc?
Another thing I have not heard on this or any of the forums is aren't the 3.0 vulcans flex fuel? Able to run e85? In which case you would be able to get a bit more power and gas would be cheaper. although it does eat gas just a tad more. But like I said with that gas is way cheaper and you gain power. So it more or less equals out. With some advantages on top.
Edit: I just google'd it. Yes they do, but as is everything on any forum. It goes both ways with opinions.

And if I don't like the 3.0, I can always use it as a spare for moms truck. Then swap the ls then. Really not out any money.
The cab on the tan truck was 800 bucks at the JY. I paid an extra 200 bucks for a running truck. At least that was the logic.
A buddy of mine on another forum is building me a 4wd trans. Just told me today

full weekend of teardown. Tan truck is in multiple pieces and ready for the engine, trans, and fuel tank to be removed. Multiple parts went to the Red Ranger as well, which helped a couple issues we were having with it. Also seen what all damage was done from the impact. The frame is bent, water pump/fan mount is broken off, and power steering pump pulley is toast, not including all the stuff you immediately notice when looking at the truck.
Here is a shot of the Ranger Friday before pulling into the garage.
After day 1, we had the bed off, front clip removed, radiator support removed, and body mount bolts out.
Here is the scrap pile from the front end
Day two we removed all the wiring and clips and grounds that were holding all the junk to the inner fenders. Then we pulled the rear end that we swapped under my red ranger. With the help of Dad's Bobcat, we were able to bring the frame and cab outside, and separate the two
Here is what is left on the frame.
Cab is ready to be sat on the new... errr.... older frame.
Next weekend will be removing the last bits, then tearing D down.
