Project Frankentruck has commenced! (VERY PIC HEAVY)
Hey all, this is my '96 B2300 Ext. cab I picked up for $500 just after turkey day '11. The truck was just beat to **** as you can see. And what you can't see, the door ajar light was always on, had no heat (rad was half full), clutch was not working right until I pulled the clutch master and burped the system. The truck was handed down from an old man to a teenage driver which explains everything. Since the truck has been in my hands, I have slowly been rebuilding and making this thing a respectable truck. She is a real sweet running truck. Tailpipe is clean, starts in sub zero temps w/o issues, etc.. Well without further ado, the 1st 20 or so pics are when I 1st got her..
The mass of **** lodged up under the cab..
How she was last year..
Interior last year..

Plans wise, I just want a nice daily driver, with spunk of course :D I have a notepad that I have been documenting notes on the 5.0 swap. I also plan on doing all of the body work and paint. I have been funding this project by hustling deals. For example, I bought an 86 B2000 truck for $200 a few months ago. I sold the new rubber off of it for $300, the leer canopy on it for $250, the truck itself for $350, etc.. All the profit I made has paid for the goodies I have been doing to my '96.

New Box
Here is the box I picked up for $250.. I didnt take this gate as it was tweaked, I got a black one off a '97 Ranger for $50 in perfect shape. This box I think was a 93 or 94.. pretty sure 94 though. I have kept the 4x4 flares on the box, and I have the flares from the '97 4x4 for the front fenders lined up for $20. I figure the flares would help for the ******** in parking lots from dinging my truck too badly *shrugs*.
Frankentruck looks so much better :D
The things you dont see when someone sprays yellow paint all over the box.. easy fix though compared to before...
The *** with the new gate, 93 or 94 Ranger bumper.. I have since found the right passenger tail light.. that was just rigged in to drive it home.. lol

Thanks Taylor.. A lot has been done to this truck in the short time I have owned it. I know that a 96 is nothing special and probably not really worth doing all of this work, but I like the truck, and this is not my 1st Ranger I have owned. This is however the 1st Ranger I have customized this much though :D
