Morris' build thread

Ok, the truck is turning 5 this year and will be paid off next month or march. I thought id do a build thread highlighting the minor and major changes my truck has gone through.

thanks before hand to rob, before i get carried away who has helped me built my truck and as i continue to build it.

day one.

i still have the running boards, i might re-install them down the road. we'll see.

the first mod besides taking off those running boards was this one:https://www.ranger-forums.com/projec...-mount-105567/

its now black, not pink and has saved my bumper while parking on the street.

i use my truck for its purpose. to haul stuff. this all turned into a deck at my parent's place

then came some lift, i purchased pre 08 keys from a member on here and an AAL from sumit racing.

the bars were also cranked a little to level things out.

of course there is always time for a summer camping trip. i took it to tobermory and it did well on the trip

after that i received some wheel spacers for xmas a couple years back.
i noticed they made it more stable and i didnt fishtail as much in the rain
they did stick out a fair bit though, i took them off and still have them. as with the running boards, time will tell.

this one is next to an old abandoned factory

i decided it was time for an exhaust. i went with the MBRP kit or as i call it Mburp kit. install is extremely simple.

i don't have any sound clips however there are a couple out there on you tube. its a nice exhaust. very mellow and quiet until you get on it. it does have some drone but i've gotten used to it.

i bought a bed tent from scott. it works great, however it gets tiresome when you put it on/take it off/putt it on/take it off to go wheeling. right guys? lol

scott was even kind enough to send me sand from down south

the next mod was an 05 grill. i always liked the look of them and was never a fan of the chrome H that came with mine. i'm still looking for a STX or 08 sport insert to put in it. i also have an emblem. thanks alex.

i also bought one of these beauties. i forget when but it does an awesome job at keeping me up to date on the vitals.

UltraGauge Automotive Information Center and OBDII Scan Tool if anyone is interested in buying one.

I don't need to wrestle anything out. I'm giving the less Mechanically inclined the benefit of the doubt.

Like I told you last night man, let me know if you need stuff fabbed up or not. The place i'm working at now is much more lenient on doing side projects than Roush was.

You need to loosen the bolts, wrestle the UCA out, replace with new UCA and reinstall bolts.

I've never done them in a Ranger, but plenty of others.

If i were to do it, I'd probably try my air ratchet first since i don't think there is a ton of space to fit an impact.

I have a question about deavers springs. According to this Ford Ranger Deaver Springs F31 - Long Travel Suspensions - Dixon Bros Racing it says F31's are a stock replacement. However if I flip my shackle it'll lower my rear.
This thread about shackle hanger says use some kartek shackles will bring it back up.
I'm uncertain what I want to do with the rear, I want them to match however I love the payload capabilities I have now with an AAL.
I talked to a friend and he suggested deavers w/an airbag kit. It'll ride nice and the airbags can level out any loads. I'm doing Reno in the spring and need the ability to haul stuff.

dont get airbags. They limit what those leafs can do. If you want a good payload but nice ride, chevy 64's are an easy swap and put you to 1500 capacity. i have them now and love them.

I'm not doing LT, so I'm not worried about the shocks being utilized. I just want the nicer ride and the payload. Adrian, you have f31s? I thought you go with the other ones side your lifted.
