so you like the Torino? I have a great uncle in NM that has a 70 Torino GT that is all original with only 18K miles on it. If I had the money I would buy it from him.

Beautiful Car man! I LOVE classic muscle! My uncle had a 67 GTO with the 400 and 4 speed sittin in his garage.. Had all the original papers for it.. Bought it brand new off the lot.. Convertible.. Only thing majorly wrong with it was it needed a new interior and top. He has had SOOO many offers for that car, even had a guy come to the door with 50K in a breefcase. ( yeah, im talkin CASH, put it on the table and everything)... Would NOT sell that car for anything..

Yeah, they( him and my aunt) ended up selling it for like 10K or some ridiculous amount like that last year.. Didnt tell me about it, they Knew i wanted that car so bad.. Pissed me off lol.. But, they are both very sick and needed the money to help pay for medical bills..

But sorry for the hack, very sexy car!

more slow progress. Got the other fender off. Think im gonna take them to work because im sure ill have to blend the tops when i paint the hood so it all matches.

Theres a cruise in on Wednesdays near my house. Im SOOOO tempted to take it like this. I probably will lol.

Hey remember when i said i move slow?

Well an update. The car is FINALLY inoperable!

Drained the engine oil, trans fluid and disconnected the battery to prevent any oopsies.

The trans was slipping before i took it apart, hence the lovely sludge of what used to be clutches in the pan. yummy.

Radiator and AC condensor out. Of course, i had the R12 in the system evacuated properly (cough). I already sold the radiator too so woot! recovering costs!

Letting it sit on the stands and letting the trans drip for a day or two. This weekend i should drain the converter and the fuel. If i get off my *** ill undo all the wiring and break the engine and trans apart.

Then again... this is me we are depending on to get the work done.....

Nice Cougar. I was going to say you need to upgrade your car to big block shock towers to make it look right but I forgot all cougars came with big block towers.
I hope you don't plan on lowering it at anytime cause those hookers hang low. My cj is stock ride height they're pretty low on it. I'm jealous cause I wish my car had edelbrock heads. Just the weight savings alone would be nice. I finally decided to yank the CJ intake off in favor of a PI intake to save a 100lbs. If you've never had an FE powered Mustang/Cougar I hope you have little hands. I have to pull the motor mount bolts and jack up the motor just to get my plug wires on.
Oh have you gotten all the big block frame mounts, motor mounts and big block tranny mount? That stuff is getting tough kind of tough to find.
Here is a pic of my car back when it has stock manifolds though so you can't see the hookers.

I have the 67 style mounts which work for the big block and small block cars. I also have a trans mount for a 69 and a set of NOS motor mounts. I had a pain of a time trying to find the right mounts believe it or not.

Im already lowered 1" in the front and with the wheels and tires i have now, the headers dont scrape. Im also removing the AC so i HOPE the weight is a wash from small block to FE (with all the aluminum enhancements of course). I still need to buy the Uber expensive trans shifter linkage parts and trans cooling lines and new fuel lines. FE fuel lines are 3/8 instead of 5/16 right? I might be wrong but who knows. also will need the big block sway bar, but cheap enough aftermarket. I gotta buy another PS drop bracket too. I had one before but it pulled out of the frame, and the stock one was welded on to replace it. Its gonna be a little project there on its own.

Your CJ is awesome man! I am quite aware of the space limitations of the spark plugs. I dont have small hands lol.

some lol. last weekend i spent some quality time with the car. The engine and trans are seperated now, and a friend and I were gonna pull the engine out this weekend, BUT..... his son's B-day is this Saturday. I might just try and get it done myself, but we will see. I dont think i have a good chain for it, and i gotta borrow his spare engine stand. We will see what happens.

Yeah yeah... i work slow.
