My Focus SVT progress thread

Wow you took a real risk buying something that abused and neglected, but it looks like it's paying off. It looks WAY better now. Hell, for that price I'd have snatched it up too.
I don't understand how someone who buys a car like that can just abuse and neglect it. Some people just have no clue.

Looking good fred, I almost bought one of those right after I got out of school but couldnt afford to do so.
I definitely have a soft spot for them and always wanted to drive one lol.
If they made them when I bought my 07 Id be driving one of those and not a ranger. I looked into focus when i bought my truck just didnt have the styling like that even with an appearance package or whatever they had in 07.

Well I talked to one of my friend's boyfriend, and I was complaining over dinner about bending a rim. He asked what I had, and I told him a SVT FOcus. Turns out he had a Mercury Cougar. (He's kind of fruity, and is a big time prep) Turns out he's got a set of 18" Enkei 6spokes that he'll sell me. He showed me what they looked like, but didnt have a picture of his, he just said they were in good shape.
I still plan on at least trying to repair my AR1 and maybe buying 1 or 2 extra wheels eventually.
I'll post pics of the Enkei's when I get pics, or get them into my hands :)

Update: Better pics of my FCKED UP wheel :(
I know the car is FILTHY. We had some sunshine but I was so pissed I didn't even want to wash the car. I'm going to take the rim down either tonight or tomorrow and drop it off to get repaired.
And here's a pic of the wheels my buddy is going to hook me up with., tho he said it'd take a few weeks before he's back at his dad's garage to pick them up.
Enkei RS6
I will probably have my AR1 fixed, and order a spare, just incase I ever crack one. Then I will ALSO try to find a 5th RS6 just in case.

I'm not sure which place I'm going to take it to. I found 3 places in Columbus. I don't know of anywhere in Mansfield but I'm going to search.
Seems like the places in Columbus are only open M-F 8-5. I'm going to call this afternoon. I can't take it down til this evening or tomorrow, but if they're not open, then NM that. If nothing else, I can have my GF or mom run down and drop it off and pick it up, I'm just afraid the shop would take them for a loop, and rip them off.

Update: The verdict from the shops I emailed pics too... the wheel is too far gone to fix. They said that its bent out into the structural part of the wheel, and that usually when they are that far gone, the wheel breaks instead of going back into shape.
The one site I THOUGHT I could get a replacement wheel from (because they had them listed), does not have them. I called, and said their site info must be outdated. So... if any of you guys get bored online, search for a site that still has AR1's...
I'm bummed. And I can't get those Enkei's for like another month! I think I'm going to post either a WTB on a few focus forums, to get a 4th and maybe 5th AR1, but I also might list my 3 remaining wheels and let somebody else pick them up.

try the vwvortex.com you might find one in the wheels section of the classified. it's a 4 bolt pattern and with some adapters, those would fit either a mk2 or mk3. they were both 4 bolts hubs

I checked it out... no luck. Did end up on a neat site.. "xrims.com" but still had no luck.. I guess I just need to watch Ebay, Craigslist, etc.
Status so far...
I can go out to Pittsburgh this weekend, and pick up 4 stock 17" 5spoke SVTF wheels, for $300. They won't have tires, and I'll have another $400+ into tires.
Or I can wait on those 18" Enkei's, which I can either get on the 19th IF the kid goes to his dad's place that day, or otherwise it wouldn't be until late April until he can get them.
I'm searching everywhere, and PMed a ton of guys on the Focus forum, trying to locate at least 1 ASA AR1 18" wheel. No luck so far.
I MIGHT pick them 17's up, and get tires for them. Then sell JUST the AR1 wheels, for as much as I can get for them, but keep the tires. Then get the Enkei's when the time comes.. Decisions decisions.

Well.. I got tipped off about a local kid who has Focus SVT 17's on his 4-lug fox mustang. I'm buying the wheels and brand new tires for 250.. HOPEFULLY. I am afraid to jinx myself, but I'm supposed to go pick them up Wednesday night. They are 4x108mm 17's, and they have SVT center caps so I'm thinking they've GOT TO BE Focus SVT wheels...

Lol, I'm still going to get the RS6's! I just want a 2nd set, I think the stock SVT wheels will get powdercoated black, and have some winter tires wrapped around them next year.
Zach, there wasn't any snow when I drove the car, that's why I drove it, because it had warmed up that day.. Yesterday was beautiful out... I got the car cleaned out. I wanted to drive it sooo bad, since we had all that sunshine, etc.

.........Still not done yet. But for an update....
I picked up these SVT wheels and BFG g-force tires Saturday morning.. Car is at least driveable again. I missed it.
The overall diameter of my wheel/tire combination dropped by about 1.25 inches, and the car is SO much quicker. The shifts are also much harder now.
They look MUCH better in person. I'm not sure why, but my camera settings must've been off, the pictures look a little "yellow'd". I wasn't sure if I liked them at first, but they have grown on me hardcore, in only 2 days! Lol
I've got my ASA's cleaned up now. I like these stock wheels enough, I'm probably going to go ahead and part with the 3 ASA wheels, but keep the tires. The guy I bought these from said the same thing happened to him, bending a discontinued wheel. He said he sold JUST the 3 remaining wheels for $200/each. If I can sell mine for that, the car will be done. I need to get the stock SVT lip, lower grill, and install my foglights. Then.. maybe I'll have the $$ left to upgrade headlights and upper grill. :)
