project daily/wheeler B3000
ive been doing alot lately so i figured i may as well make up a build thread.
i picked this truck up in early october after i sold my 2wd ranger, and my samurai project.
anyway we all love pictures so.....on to the pics:yahoo:
when i picked her up
immediately started the build process
steel for my sliders
action shot with sliders
then i found explorer leather seats, center console and over head console for $70! and added a set of gauges so i know my actual oil pres, water temp, and voltage.
up next came the rear bumper
then i found myself a lift for dirt cheap, i know the radius arm drop brackets suck but i cant afford extended ones yet so these will do for now
the 2 car garage where everything is built
under the knife
first drive on the lift was over to my friends huge shop, had to take some pictures under the light
yes i know i have a bit of a camber issue that im working on fixing
up next is how i decided to lay out the bed. built the highlift mounts and the mounts for the pick/axe and shovel are called quickfist clamps.
the high lift mounts
the bed
and for some reason my truck came with no passanger side oh **** handle, so after a few girls started complaining i added one.
and at the moment i am in the process of building a plate style winch bumper for up front, but in the mean time i threw some hella 500s i had laying around on the factory bumper.
i will keep updating as i build, next will be the front bumper:icon_thumby:

forgot to update this thread, heres my updates from TRS
got some 33x12.5r15s on rims.
then went wheelin
sway bar still hooked up :(
played on some rocks, open diffs suck and i didnt want to break anything
oh and landed on the sliders for the first time with the lift
oh yes sorry ive been a little busy with school.
turns out it wasnt the gas, just a coincidence that both our trucks had the same symptoms.
after messing with it for a bit i started to go back to the basics and found that my timing some how jumped 20degrees. so i retimed it and its been running great since, still dumb founded on how the timing jumped.
also due to my stupidity, on sunday my passenger side wheel bearing grenaded its self and left me stranded 10 miles from home. i forgot to repack my wheel bearings after the super wet and muddy wheeling trip a week and a half earlier. the inner part of the bearing practically welded it self to my passenger side spindle, chisel, torch, vice-grips, nothing could get it off, so i ran to the pull apart in tacoma and got a spindle off an explorer for 4 bucks.
sad sight first truck to get towed home.
and what i saw when i pulled the rotor off
this weekend i plan to start working on my front bumper again, and fix our old 1975 volvo 164 so i can sell it and use the money for a new welder or plasma cutter :)
got some more done, and the pictures i promised. yes its alittle lower on the passenger side, i quickly threw it on the truck, and didnt worry about aligning it.
still alot left to build on it, but its starting to take shape. you can only build so fast with a cut-off wheel
heres the progress so far, i only painted it because i wont be able to work on it for a few days and with all the rain washington gets i dont want it to start rusting.
if you look close you can see my friends 240sx(sr20det, rhd, cage, megan coilovers, fuel cell etc)
how it sits at the moment

finaly got working on it again lol. got the hoop and lights done. all that is really left is to finishe the sides. in some spots it doent look square and level in the pictures but believe me everything is square and equal. just crappy cell pictures.
and this is why i hate cutoff wheels. this one blew up as soon as it touched the metal, never by cutoff wheels at ACE they are crap . and yes thats the ceiling of my garage

I thought this was going to be a pretty boring and not the best build thread when you first started. (idk why I just did) But you proved me wrong. Kick *** little truck man. I'm really liking it! The front bumper is sweet but you should have made a bigger stinger since it looks like you already have problems dinging up your hood
Truck looks great man! Keep up the good work! Where did you get the winch and how do you like it so far (if you have used it)?

Aren't the cops gonna bug you about that front plate not being immediately noticeable?? If you think they might then have a look through my photo album for a super cheap way of mounting that front plate, that's also quick to remove.. If the pics aren't there, then I can get them for you..
Sweet lil truck man. I love the bumper..
GB :)
