Last night I put the passenger side head on and got everything torqued down. After doing some more reading today I realized I had the head gasket on that side installed wrong. So today I tore that side all apart again and now she's starting to look like a motor again. Managed to lose one of my intake bolts so it's not torqued down right now. Here's how it all sits right now though.
Then I made a run to get some oil and anti-freeze and went back to work:
It took me about an hour to get that distributor in there. PITA! Need to get a throttle body gasket, install that, bolt up the alternator, and double check everything and it'll be ready to run! I also hooked up my Maximum Motorsports steering shaft and rerouted my clutch cable. So glad I rerouted that cable too because it made it so much softer.
Yep! I'm so tired of looking at it just sit there. I'm going to drive it(hopefully) all this coming week, find a LX front bumper soon, then get it painted while I'm at the beach(or before then if possible).
I will at some point. I started up the car for the first time today. It's running a little rough, has a few leaks here and there. Fuel pressure gauge under the hood is leaking for some reason right around the fitting and I lost a header bolt(in the truck somewhere) so it pretty much burns your eyes idling in the garage. Also is chattering some which I think is just because of the "lack" of oil throughout the motor.
I need to set the lash on the rockers so I'll be tearing it down again next weekend probably. Who knows, might start on it tomorrow if it's not 100* again. Kinda sucks that I have to tear into it again but that's what I get for not doing things the first time. I'm thinking about painting the intake to match the valve covers. Maybe...I don't really know yet. Kind of like it how it is.
