Alright, so I've ground down and filed way more than what should be necessary. So I'm thinking I've got a weak motor mount on the driver's side that is making the engine and transmission lean to the left. Now that I think about it, the truck does shake a bit, and both shifters shake while the truck is idling. I'm really starting to suspect the motor mount now.

Here's the shifter stub in Neutral.

2nd gear literally hangs over the trim ring.

Shifter stub doesn't really look centered in Neutral:

As long as I don't snap in the shifter boot though, I can still run the trim ring.

Nice deal on the shifters. What are you going to do about the hole in the floor?

I've got some extra material laying around from my console, so I'll probably glue it down with some industrial strength stuff.

So last week some ******* decided to run into my truck and not leave a note. A simple sorry would have sufficed. This is now the second time my truck has been hit by idiot drivers.

I beat the dent out of the bed already, but I'm gonna save the door dent for when I dye the interior.

Quarter Door:

Bed:

For the last few months I've had an issue with my stock tail lights getting condensation in them. I've run a bead of silicone around them twice, but no dice.

So I ditched the stock tail lights for 06+ tail lights. I wanted to do this for a long time, but never did. Wish I had done it a long time ago.

Ever since I swapped in the Level II shifters, I've hated how they looked with the vinyl floor. So I pulled out the vinyl floor and replaced it with carpet. Shifters look MUCH better now.

And finally, I made a Maglite mount that is held down by the two front passenger seat bolts. Out of the way, and hidden.

Carpet looks much better. Makes me want to do mine even more. Are you going to dye the seats black?

Do it! The cab is actually less noisy now, which I didn't really expect. That coupled with your insulation might make your cab even more quiet.

As for the seats, I'm really not sure. I could dye them, but the driver's side is slightly torn, so it would still look terrible. I could have them recovered, but I'm not sure I want to spend that much on seats right now.

I really wish I could find a set of factory black/blue Level II seats with lumbar.

You could always get a good set of black seat covers to hold you over until you can reupholster them.

I still have my stock black/silver seats, I would just have to convert the driver's side to a bucket. They aren't as comfortable as the Explorer seats, but they're at least black. lol.

Even though I love how easy vinyl is to clean up, I hate how faded mine looks now.

I may have to do the carpet switch as well, or at the very least replace mine.

Insulation would be a must if I was going as far as to swap the flooring

That was my problem with the vinyl. It was faded and looked terrible.

I thought about insulation, but I'm gonna save that for when I have the entire interior out for paint.

Now that I have the carpet, I'm starting to realize how much I don't like vinyl flooring. I can see the purpose of it for a work truck, but this isn't a work truck.

Just a suggestion, but what if you kept the vinyl flooring for the winter months, and ran carpet for the summer months?

I could, but since buying the Saturn, the truck isn't needed as much.

I'm probably getting another F150 this year so the truck can be kept out the nastiness.

Carpet just looks better, plus I could get some weathertech mats

That's true. I forgot you had the beater.

Weathertechs are on my list as well, but only if I really need them. Gotta see how dirty the carpet ends up.

The thing I hate about the vinyl.. along with the fading.. is that the dirt that gets on it.. like sand and dust.. just stays there, and I feel and hear it rubbing on the bottoms of my shoes.. I can't stand it.. like nails on a chalk board to me, lol. I will do carpet eventually.

Y'all are starting to change my opinion about vinyl floors. I guess I haven't complained about it because I don't drive my truck much anymore. Is there a place you can buy it new?
