Wondering if this is a good find, I'm going to see it right now: $6000, blue, blue trim seats, matching shell.

Seats aren't original, but it looks like a clean truck.

Really? I've seen the red seats that look just like that, are both colors aftermarket?

I was considering putting in leather seats in there, I saw that on a Ranger at a dealership in Ortonville, MI. Are those aftermarket only as well?

This will be my first Ranger, I'm really excited to join this group. I'd like to really dive into this guy.

I bought it! The guy took 5500. Gotta go to the DMV tomorrow! I'm so excited! Everything works, as far as I can tell. 4.0 is solid, no clunking, no lift noises, no knocks. It's louder than the newer engines, but that's to be expected. I'm going to try and take it in this week. There is a small damage in the front, behind the front grill - there is no barrier between air and the radiator, so I'll have to replace that.

Can't wait to dive into this one! Any advice for a beginner?

The style of the seat is a dead giveaway, the 04+ seats have a plastic shroud at the bottom, the seats you have do not. That specific style and color seat was only used for one year, and that was on the 2003 Level II. The 2004+ seats were much boxier in shape. Your original seats would have been black and gray.

Congrats on the new truck and welcome to the Ranger family!

Thank you! It's been the truck I didn't know I was searching for all my life.

Ooo I'll take color coordinated Level II seats any day. I'll take a torque wrench to the bolts, make sure it is up to spec but I love the way it looks! I'll take more pictures later.

Any recommendation on a radio/head unit? I like that it has a CD player, I've been missing that from my 17 Ram, but the Nav and other goodies the Ram had would be nice too. I plan on taking this where cell service isn't great, so offline maps would be fantastic. Price is not a problem, Dual Din, obviously. Android Auto/Bluetooth and all the other new features would not go underappreciated.

I'm running a 2014 Pioneer double din in my truck. I use it with direct Ipod control, and Bluetooth. Price point was around $250 so I think it's the entry level double din. The only thing I don't like about it is how slow the ipod control is. Otherwise it's been a good unit.

Check out our How-To page. There's tons of little mods you can do to make your Ranger feel more like a higher end truck.

They really are fun little trucks, I've had mine for nine years now, and it's been a solid daily driver for all of those years.
