2MB limit on attached files

Please don't forget to increase the size of individual attached files.
At 2MB there are very few .AVI or .MOV files that small and I have some Ranger action shots I want to share.
Thanks :D

They may only make it a feature with the paid subscription.

Attachments should have no limit. I looked at those settings yesterday. The only limit may be your total available storage. Will look into that...

Ok, the 2.0 mb limit is on the PHP software side, not the forum software. Will put this on the to do list.

As far as I know, uploads with php software such as a php uploader, attachment uploader, etc.... are limited to 2 MB. To get any larger, you will probably have to ftp. If I am wrong and the php developers have overcome this, please let me know. I would love to be able to upload over 2 MB files with a php uploader.

Well I hope the individual file size can go above 2MB since all movies are going to be more than that
I already have a photo site I paid a fee to join, but I can't put .AVI or .MOV on it
I am still glad I contributed to Ranger-Forums, but initially did so with the intention of sharing off road action videos via this site

You should be able to set it with a .htaccess file by putting this in your root folder

php_value upload_max_filesize "50M"

or whatever you want to set it to

I think those settings are in MySQL though (not at all sure), and not the PHP code. Read the whole thread for clarification.

http://www.radinks.com/upload/config.php

Good link.

I have read that you can do it, but have yet to find out how (well, some way that doesn't take forever anyway, lol).

Maybe you could write a flash uploader, or a java uploader. That would overcome all of the limit problems.

From my understanding with trying to do that with other php apps is the php that is installed is defualted to allow only 2 megs and to change that with the php code you would need to get the host to change that in it or create some sort of php.ini file of some sort or try the .htaccess code i wrote above

When I installed the gallery the .htaccess statement sovlved the 2MB php barrier for me
