Had To Clean Up...

Had To Clean Up...
physically removed around 4000 threads
physically removed about 1700 members that hadn't ever posted once, or logged in in the last 60 days...
our site is growing and is tying up too many resources for our host.
but p.s. - www.Fibreconnections.net is a great host!

yeah, initially ALOT will be different.
we will try and salvage the "active topics" feature, but it may disappear for a while.
it was custom designed, when we built the site.
unfortunately, some ex members and spammers are exploiting holes in the current software, which is forcing us to upgrade software, which will cause us to lose all of the hacks/mods i have installed on ranger-forums.
in addition, skot's wife is having a baby and i'm going through the application process for two police departments, while working 45+ hours/week for at&t - so to say the least, we're both very busy.

Hey, Christian, did you do this before and eliminate most of my attachments? When I go to older topics of mine, the pics are gone. When I look at my attachments, they're listed in my control panel, but when I click them there's no pics there. This is just for older ones -- more recent ones still work fine.

Thanks. I thought maybe I'd just been gone too long or something. I probably have all the pics if I need to put some back if an old post is still used.
I'll have to go back and delete those lost attachments in my list then to recover the space as it still shows I have those files saved and taking up my allotment.

yeah. we're staying with vbulletin.
just need to get the account info off my old pc so i can get the update downloaded...
i'll have some free time in a few weeks to mod and tweak it all back to cool. ;-)
for now, the priority is to get everything updated and running efficiently. then i'll worry about modding the site to make it function like it does now.
this is the time that ya'll need to recognize how great sk0t (mental ambiguity) and brian (www.Fibreconnections.net) are... if it wasn't for sk0t's technical abilities with the database stuff and our great host, r-f would explode.
i just make the site look pretty and keep some sense of order. they're the behind the scenes guys (in addition to our other admin and mods) that keep this site going.
