I don't understand why you're surprised about this. This forum is not your own personal advertizing venue. It is a public forum where people are free to publicly post their opinions regarding your pricing. If you don't like it, don't post your prices.

Quite frankly I'm a little bitter about Chrisitan giving you your own private section on the forums to begin w/. Are you paying for such promotional services? You should be.

I'm sorry you take things so personally. However this is a forum of Ranger enthusiasts looking out for one another. We post here because we're looking for good deals and advice on products. Having someone suggest your pricing is too high is exactly the sort of thing I expect to read on this forum. Just like I expect to see people posting about 'great deals' they find on ebay or w/ a specific vendor. Expecting otherwise is just silly..

i don't want to think this hard right now.

i am a little tired.

i will develop some sort of r-f policy on all this, later.

but, seriously, if this irritates me or becomes more a hassle, than the favor i am doing you vendors, i can just take your forum/selling privilages away. no offense.

i dont ask for payment. i just try to help members that have online businesses out.

hand outs are easy to give. easier to take away.

i am actually getting irritated of seeing, what could almost be seen as SPAM, from some vendors.

so, let's just leave this topic alone, for now.

sweep it under the rug.

<sorry>

p.s. - read what colin wrote, with a better attitude. objectively. look at it from an outside perspective.

vendor section to me is a place for our members to advertise what they sell, no one has to post in it or even respond who knows that new item just might be something someone has been looking for.

i see the vendor section as a good thing.

Firstly I don't see what that has to do w/ your complaint here.

No, I'm not paid, but then I've never expected to be. I receive absoloutely zero compensation for offering my opinions or commentary. I don't even get any special treatment on this board, like my own section or anything like that. (Yet oddly you do!) Nor does Peter. Yet just like Peter, I feel we are both free to openly share our opinions and experiences w/ products and services at will.

Ah, now you're starting to catch on. Show me why buying from you is better than buying from Crutchfield or someone else. Show me why your ~100% markup over such vendors is worth it.

As I've said before regarding camera equipment. I'd gladly support local independent retailers, if only they could show me a reason why I should. You pissing and moaning over having someone point out your substantial price premium certianly doesn't make me want to spend my money w/ you..

I hear Christian on the SPAM comment.. at least I think I do. You've been posting EACH AND EVERY new item you carry (or maybe it just seems so). These show up as new topics, which pollute the board. In my view, yeah, that's pretty close to SPAMMING..

Maybe some sort of periodic update: "Hey guys, I've updated the site, lots of new items available now, check it out" is called for. But you're taking it a little overboard. So yeah, I understand his fustration..

And now I see that Peter, Leo's and my own comments were removed anyway. So it's all a moot point.

I think it'd be best if there was some way that vendors could add posts about items that only showup in the forum, not in the "Active topics in the last X hours" page. Because I view it as spam when I see "____ now for sale". I don't care if ____ is for sale, but if I was looking for ____ it'd be nice if I could go to the forums section and find a thread about it.

Someone can price match themselves if they want. It's not only price that matters. There is quality, shipping and other factors that go into equation. It's easy as hell to find a lower price, but you get what you pay for.

Do not solicit outside your forum.
Don't advertise in your signature.
Don't interrupt/invade another vendor forum unless you are sincerely offering advice.
Don't think anything is owed to you.

Do that and Christian won't have to interfere. We are all guilty of relaxing the rules. It's no different from having to step in on post whoring or cursing, except we as a group of vendors should be better than this. We have more to lose. I see enough people advertising stuff in their sigs that I did the same. I just cleaned up my sig and I hope everyone will follow. As a group we are all looking pretty stupid right now because the actions of a couple reflects on all of us...and the reality is it all of us at some point..at some time...doing something we know we shouldn't have.

3. Advertising - Please do not advertise a company or service in your signature, avatar, title, or posts. Product reviews are different than advertising. If you wish to advertise your product or a product you sell, contact Trevelyn1015 and receive written permission first. Then, all advertisements must be made in the Vendor forum you are assigned. You may put what you sell as your custom title, if you are a site contributor and vendor. You may not advertise your product in another member's topic. You may have one link to your "Vendor's Forum" store. Other than that, there should be no advertisement in your signature. Failure to follow these specific rules can result in losing vendor and/or membership privilages.

To VENDORS FORUM only. Hummm how can I add a redirect there? Stratches head again and wonders if underdog-performance.com is reading this?

I linked to my store. If that is not correct I would think a mod or Christian will inform me shortly. Thanks

Okie dokie I misread it, or it is misleading to read Christians. Does it mean the link has to point to vendors forum or to out own dotcom? I was reading it to mean to our vendors forum.

you guys are making this harder than it should be.

so i will be super specific.

You can have a link. :My Ranger-Forums' Vendor Section:

and that's it.

i don't have to provide a way to make you guys more money. ie: your sections.

seriously, stop making it a hassle or you'll lose it.

and stop moderating one another.
