not sure if it has been addressed or will be or won't be, but i would like to suggest that the picture upload for the gallery, if possible, can you make it a mass uploader, so you can either go into the browse mode and select several, or have a box that works similar to my computer? I have seen it on other sites and it works really well

I have been here some time helping Zach out and I played the role in some of the latest dev work around here.

First off, I would add that there was a slew of pictures that Zabeard contributed to the design. We (a friend of mine) and I built the theme and chose Zabeards truck randomly. It was not a request but rather the way things played out as we were asked to keep the color / theme relatively similar.

Registered users can view the bottom left of the screen and change themes. This is 100% working and has been tested.

Site Contributors can view the bottom left of the screen and change themes. This is 100% working and has been tested.

This means that if you don't like the new custom theme you can change to the old theme. Zach may not have been familiar with the theme / style changer placement, but default is the bottom left corner.

The old theme will be unsupported in the future by me, an admin. New additions may or may not be added to that theme. That will be something Zabeard and I will talk about in the future as new projects role out.

Avatar sizes were re-sized to 144x168 for site contributors which is already large within itself. Since we are being honest, oversized avatars are gay and anyone on a remotely inadequate connection will be waiting to see your picture of your big bad *** truck 4 times over in the same thread, awesome...for some. I find it to be a complete nuisance. Please don't be offended at my comments, I am not at yours.

Someone commented on the new design being confusing. The layout is without question 95% the same. The buttons, the drop downs, the quicklinks, the header location are essentially the default skeleton of vbulletin, just redesigned.

I hope that addresses some concerns for you.

Im back on the old style... Seems dull now compared to the new. I think its gaining on me.

 

I like it besides the back ground color.

 

LOL, that is because its 2004 created, its a great design but its old. not too many places keep sites looking the same since day 1.

I'm sorry, but I feel I must do this...

I really don't like the attitude that the admin is having right now. I know you guys run the site and it's your show, but fact of the matter is, to me, RF is unique for it's contrib avatars and the atmosphere of talking about trucks and joking around. That's what makes this place unique to me. There's people who become a contrib just for the large avatar, myself included in the beginning. Look at how many abuse that...let their membership expire, and keep the same nice big avatar. If you guys really wanted to keep this theme of smaller basic avatars for contribs, you better go in and edit everyones avatars that are remaining large. Admit it, it makes the site dirty and unorganized. Give them a week to change it, and if it's not changed, the mods and admin will change it for them or something. IDK...I'm thinking outloud.

hey i liked the large avatars too, but since i went with my mobile phone its a pain to wait on it to load. we still use a rather large avy even the new 144x168 is bigger than most places.

most places are 100x100 no matter who you are.

RF is still unique and will continue to be that way.

Good idea. I will get Zabeard on top of getting some pics together for us. We can get them rotating and providing the JS doesnt kill load times, we could run with it.

Hi, thats twice in 1 thread with your awesome attitude. This is likely why you are no longer a mod.

May or may not happen. Change one change all type deal here.

I have read all 11 pages a few times, even taking the time to comment on almost every concern. There are a ton of people who like the new theme, rescan the thread perhaps.

its funny how all the old issues are forgotten so easily. crashing server, down RF for weekends, slow site respnse, no admin to contact... etc.

Well, I cant explain it unless it was during some odd code change to production where you refreshed and it broke. Its fixed which is good.

 

a person who is a huge part of RF. He is a great guy and keeps the site running to its best performance it can.
