Gun Forum?

maybe we could use an extra off topic type thread for guns....

just saw a guy shoot an old rifle on history channel and thought about of all the people here who seem to play with guns

i'm more of a historian (but not really) on them then someone who shoots at all

Well, I am a historian, and I like guns, new and old. I'm for one :)

As soon as the part arrives, I'm threading the barrel, installing a muzzle brake, perhaps a folding stock, and I'm not sure about the handguards. I'm changing them either to laminate, or installing a forward pistol grip to give it a "Rambo" look. Why? Eh, why not, haha.

SKS. Modified for 30rd AK Mags. Illegal in NYS endless one has an FFL . Its a piece of Garbadge ( to me ) in all honesty. It MIGHT shoot a 12inch group at 100yards..

Varmit toy :) My FAVORITE of all my rifles. FVL12SS 22-250AI

Newest toy. Lets see whom can tell what it is Its the Only right handed rifle ( outside of an AR-15 ) that I own.
It looks like a Savage 12FVSS in 22-250?

You got me stumped D. It's a beauty without question and I'm sure it can thread the needle at considerable distance.

Your "illegal, cop killing, terrorist-sponsored, evil" SKS is quite nice. Is it a Norinco Model D or M, or did you personally modify it to for AK mags? I would modify my Yugo SKS, but to honest I shot it and it didn't do much for me. I like shooting for accuracy, but I also like going out and plinking and the SKS, eh, I find the AK more fun to plink with and I can clean it in about 10 minutes easily. The SKS is a more intricate design compared to the AK and my SKS in particular is fussy when I have to disassemble it.

Hmm, I'd venture redranger91's guess as being a Savage 12, though I'll say it's the 12 BVSS.

9 (or 12?)

Building a .308 Saiga (Russian AK) with RPK and Dragunov pieces, should be finished in December...

Getting a "Shark" muzzlebreak and setting the Front Sight Base back 1/2" to thread the tip of the barrel. Can't wait, hoping Santa brings range finding Russian optics..

Its a Model 12BVSS thats been fully worked. I aquired the rifle itself for 100$ and a set of 270win RCBS Comp Dies ( Full length and neck ). Had it shipped out and fully done, New Barrel , Trigger..

http://www.savagearms.com/12bvss.htm

800$ suggested retail.. their nuts!

The ' Sux0rz ' of it all.. Its not a lefty . Its a single shot setup anyway.

Brian made the adaptor for the magazines about 2 years ago. Had to remove the fixed box magazine.

Hes going to buy it off me ( 100$ ) as I haven't even fired it in over a year.. It is a Norinco, has the Ontario/Cali stamp on it.

Blah.. I like my bolt-guns. I only need 1 shot at a time.

Correct-amundo.

I'm waiting on my .30-338 to arrive. I'll be happy then
Cool, I done guessed right :) Shoot, I'd buy that SKS for $100, and shoot it too, I got tons of AK mags!
