Icon14 Question for rick....

I asked this question before in another thread that you asked for questions to be asked and alot were answered expect for mine. I didnt wanna PM you because this is a public forum and i feel that it has to do with everyone...lol. I really hope this thread doesn't get closed like every other one has been. My purpose here is NOT to cause any trouble or ripples between me and anyone on here. But anyways heres my point and question!! LOL!

OK.....lets say you came into a dealer and i was goin to sell you a car/truck. I told you that you could have this brand new car/truck for $100/mth @ 0%apr for the 60mnths. Of course you'd be all over it as anyone would be!! SO now you've just gotten me paid for this vehicle that pay's for my employee's,lights, ect...NOW i come back a few mnths later and say "weeeeellllll, remember that deal we made? well now its gonna be $900/mth @12.9%APR for 84mths and there's nothing you can do about it!! WOW RIGHT!!?? So would you have bought that new car/truck to begin with if i had told you that up front!!?? ok now the point of this story!!

thats how the contributors (the ones that pay money here) were done!! We paid money and were told this is what you get for it. Then it was stripped away with no notice that I recieved or prior warning. Now as you can see on the left i have conformed to the new avatar size and yes i was FORCED because it was removed due to the new site outlay. I have no big issues over the different avatar size or smaller pm box, not like i need it anyways, but its the fact that we contributors (the ones that pay money here) were told that we would receive this service for the extra lil pymnt from our end. So do you kinda see why/where this is goin?

Thanks Sincerely,
Josh (HozII)

good questions, Josh.

I remember reading your question in the other thread for comments that was left open for nearly 7 whole hours, and it seems as though nearly every question was addressed, except for yours.

I'd be interested in the answer, as well.

I don't think our PM box size changed (or, i dunno, maybe it has -- i don't use it very often), but nearly everything else that was offered to contributors has been methodically removed without recourse, even though we paid money for it. I'm talking about, of course, the larger avatars, the free R-F stickers, the lack of advertising, etc. All these things, which I understood I would receive after I paid to become a contributor, I did not receive and am not enjoying.

I wonder if you're just waiting for an address to which you can send my pro-rated membership refund money to?

in before the lock, cause it WILL get locked and it WILL get deleted........ and your probably gonna get banned. haha

The PM box went from 500 to 600, but big whoop, who the hell needs to save 500, nevermind 600 PMs?

I don't see how completely depriving a consumer of promised services (banning) would resolve the issue at question, which is the partial deprivation of services purchased. I would think that would be an even more egregious affront to the consumer protection laws.

IMO this is kinda rediclous why all this has changed and how mods handled it.

I log on almost everyday to read though the posts because i like it here. But it is just going down and down and down.. Soon there willl be very few contributers and the site will have to come up with new perqs just to get people to recontribute. Which not everyone will and it will just keep going down and down. So listen or not but this place not to long from now if i keeps going how its going with be really lame or not exsist.

Just my oppion. No Body should be banned for that. It is what a forum is.

I have no problem with people making money, or with them making money with small businesses.

I do think, however, that when one purchases a business, they get the assets and the liabilities -- and you cannot, in good conscience, benefit (or try to benefit) from the assets while ignoring the liabilities. That's not how businesses survive, let alone thrive -- especially in this economy.

I asked a simple question that just requires a simple answer..thats it. I have no beef with anyone or what they decided to do with the site. Its just the principle of the matter. I don't see why i would get banned for askin a question. I'm not one of the ones goin around on here and startin trouble all the time. I'm one of the ones tryin to encourage people and have good clean fun!!

We should contribute to help the forum, not because of what we get from it. The perks are just a "thank you" and aren't required. Although I completely see your point, especially if you contribute only to get those perks.

This forum was fine before I gave them my money and it will be fine if I dont give them anymore.

I gave them money for the "perks".

Whether your motivation is the perks or not I think it's the idea of being promised something and not having that person follow through with the promise...
