What is happening to the site ? - IB's response post #63

All,
Bottom line, none of the volunteer staff can solve any of the issues or concerns that have been becoming more prevalent. That is also why I presume you all have seen the decrease in the staff activity. Some have definitely been more active than others, but there is no doubt we are not as active as we once were. I have put countless hours in the forum to make it better, but the problems you all are having I cannot fix. That is frustrating, for us all.
I will also be stepping down as an admin and have named Ryan as my successor. So Ryan and Taylor are now the two new admins. However, please direct your concerns to IB. They are the ones who will have to address them.
Good luck and congrats to Ryan and Taylor!

First we are getting loaded with ads !
Then we are getting loaded with SPAM !
Now I am being told I don’t have permission to do this or that !
WHAT’S UP with this place, are we going to the DOGS ?
Also, I got a cancelation on the site auto subscription pay from PayPal, WTF… if you don’t need my money then I am not going to worry about it.
what is going on, are there that many changes in the back ground that are affecting the overall performance of this site ?
Things need to get better when new guys take over not worse !

IB's response:
So the double posting has gone on for too long and I am having the guys dedicate someone to fix it in the next two weeks (could be sooner but our tech team works in two week batches of projects and it is in there).
If the guys are seeing specific performance issues outside of the double posts then I need specifics in terms of what is happening and we can work to fix it.. is it general slowness? is the site returning errors?
The ad layout on Ranger-Forums was one of the smallest we have acquired and when logged in it still remains one of the least ad-heavy sites. The issue may be that the paying members are seeing them and if they can screenshot specific ads that they feel should not be shown and we can look to block it. RF is one of like 6 sites in our network with paying members who don't see ads and sometimes the newer ad units slip through.
Lastly we did talk at some point with Adam or Kris regarding an updated theme and I basically told them you guys see another theme that you like in our network of sites, found here: Sites - Internet Brands Automotive Group
We can take a design from another site and modify the colors or header and look to implement it over here. We recently had a new site, not listed on the site above that has a nice and clean design:
MyQForum - The Infiniti Q and QX Model Resource
But there are tons of others to chose from.
I apologize for lack of response early on but will do everything I can to break the notion these guys have of us simply buying the site to let it die.
We made it a priority to get items like the portal back early on and spent tons of time trying to dig into why everyone seemed to have left in 2011 and I look forward to bringing some new life to the site and working to make the members feel like they are being heard.

That all sounds great. I am looking forward to results. They mentioned screenshots of ads, should we PM them the screenshots?
I'm all for helping make the site better, hopefully they follow through with their promises, IB just needs to be straight with us on what they need from us to help.
I do appreciate the response, it has eased my mind a bit.

Except there are other Ranger sites that are just as active as R-F used to be. They may have stopped making them but there are millions still driving them.

I haven't been very active on here lately due to me working 50-60 hours a week and not having much time to do anything else. Work is done now and I have some free time again. As far as site problems, I have noticed them even with my limited activity.
To fix the ad problem: Install AdBlockPlus
Also I would like to formerly volunteer to take a moderator position. Please let me know if there's anything I can do. Thanks and congrats Taylor and Ryan.

Why not give it a few before judgement is passed. I tried to post earlier on this but it was taking forever to load. I dunno if it was the site or my wifi as the weather was jacked.

Also, a thread doesn't dissapear once you have viewed it. The title isn't bold, letting you know that you already viewed that thread.
I hated viewing a thread, and then either forgetting something or wanting to view it again...only to have it dissapear.
