04/5 Carrige works billet grills.
the product is a Carrige Works black billet grill for 04/5 rangers. we purchased it through undergodperformance. total install time was about 3 1/2 hrs and lots of swearing.
overall the product was good. the finish was 100% (thanx wayne for getting them to ship us a new one), looked great and seems like it was done very well. the product itself was a little flawed, one end has a slight bend to it but overall it was very nice. for this i give a 8/10.
the fit n finish look great (minus that one end). took a while to get it to fit to my liking but once done we were pleased w/ it. for this i give a 7/10.
onto the install...what a PITA. first i wanna saw, they need to include a tool list because i ended up not having the right tool. second the instructions, while pretty detailed, were a little vauge and the pictures were VERY hard to make out. could have been a flaw in printing or just a bad picute...who knows. they also said, if one plans on keeping the stock instert to remove by hand. well this was a no dice thing here because i ended up cutting the tabs as per the instructions stated. then actually installing the grill onto the truck, a long hex key with a 15* ball end was needed, which i didnt have at home today, so i had to waste an hr looking for a suitible replacement. once i found one i spent another 25 minutes fanaggling myself to get everythiing buttoned up. that was due into part of Ford placing **** in the way and the brackets being made to block the most logical way to access the screws. lastly, i had to fiddle with a few brackets to get everything to line up and fit but that is to be expected. for this i give a 4/10.
overall it looks great, didnt take that long and definatly a worthy upgrade. overall i give it a 6/10.
