i have a delta aluminum tool chest in the back of my truck. By far the best purchase for my truck. Mine does not go over the rails so if you have a tonneau cover it won't get in the way. I'm in Canada so the place I bought mine from is Canadian Tire. My only bit of advice is to consider getting a black coated one. Mine has begun to pit and is a chore to polish. Here's a pic that shows the tool chest:

Here is a pic of mine. It is a Delta Low profile box. I would not get black, the black will chip and flake and will look worse than a chrome box. I have had mine for 2 years and it still looks pretty good.

When you go to a truck accessory store they will be able to tell you what will fit in your truck. Request some info from Delta and UWS I went with Delta over UWS for a couple of reasons the quality looked a little better and it is 1 inch deeper the the UWS. If you get a box off of eBAy they will tell you that the box is made for a Ranger, You just need to decide which brand and model box you want.

The chest comes up to the bed rails. I drilled through the bottom of the box and the bed. I used a clevis pin through the holes and clipped it with a cotter pin. Depending on how much junk you through into the box you can clip it from the inside. Mine was always loaded so I clipped it underneath the bed. I hit the pins with primer black spray paint and you wouldn't even have known they were there. You could always just bolt it to the bed but I wanted something that'd quick release.

They do amke the tool boxes teller(covers up more of the back window) & they make them deeper(will go about 1" from the bed floor) I have 1 screw on each side of the tool box that goes into the bed rail.

My tool chest is bolted through the box and body. Run the bolt up and put the nut inside the box (they have 4 pre-determined mounting points) and then it can't get stolen. The box itself is very light, so if it's not bolted down it will move all over.

Cool thanks, I really like the delta boxes that are below the rails. I'm in need of some sort of storage.

i bought mine for $5 at dollar General, its a rubber maid knock off with a snap on cover, works EXTREMELY well for my reg tools, as far as my other box for my jack, and basic hand tools and stuff if i break down, i got a slightly smaller box for that but the top never wants to stay on.... its got this lil clips that like slide and lock onto the tub, its a crappy design... bungy cord holds it together tho. and it fits under my tonnau cover.

Mine is held on with J-Bolts. It goes under and up the bottom of the bed rails. The bolt is inside the box and as long as it's locked, there is no doubt everything is secure.
