i did buy a winch cause i needed for work more than pleasure. thought it been great for pleasure trips XD lol

in costa rica winches are 2x the $ int eh us. so i bought the xrc8 for the price of a warn in the usa... stupid taxes... o well

thes winch in the us costs 300 $... for a not very often use i do recomend it alot.

http://www.smittybilt.com/product/index/38.htm

though the solenoide is not its best part its still going strong. pulled me uphill with bed loaded with some... 800 pounds. like with a 20-25 degree hill...

its not as fast but i rather go slow and arrive than never arriving, and for 300$ i dont mind the wait. (well 600$ in costa rica)

so for the pros.

>nice looking
>cheap
>strong
>does its job.. slow but it doesit

downturns

>Not the best solenoid in the market but i guess that can get changed latter on.
>not a "warn" (with this i mean theres not really a backup of its capabilitys)
>the clutch sometimes need a pull to stay on the freespool as it tends to lock when u pull on the wire.
>it weights 90 pounds (if u add that and the bull bar ask my torsion bars how they feel)
>its a lil harsh on ur battery so u would like to keep the engine running a while after u use it to recharge.. and do pauses often during the recovery to let the battery get a il charge before continuing

overall im happy with the winch, i dont recomend it if ur rockcrawling or some very hevy dutty stuff as i really dont know when it might fail. but for the average user, saving u from some mud holes or non life threetening situations i recomend it.

as i say ive used it... hit it lots of times and hasent had a problem.

hope it helps anyone looking for a cheap option to save u from having to hear from a friend "lol i totally saved ur *** today at the trail.. y own me one or just pay for my beers today and were even"
