Bad check received

Bad check received
I was written a bad check in the amount of $170.00 by SuperGildo@RRP. It was returned for non-sufficient funds.
My post written in the guise of a fable was not appreciated here, I was told to lay out all the facts so that all parties involved could respond and hopefully clear up this matter. So i'm glad to do that and apologize for the deceptive nature of my earlier post.
It was a sale negotiated and sold thru Colorado4x4, here's one of the first PM's confirming he would like to buy the tru-trac.
Take note of dates and times
Here's on confirming pickup
Here's a PM that to his credit shows he brought it to my attention that the check didn't clear
Here's my response
Later here's my PM asking what the deal was
Gil is a member who used to post 10 or 15 times a day. His post history is available on Colorado4x4.
After I sent him a PM Jan 23, 2007 at 4:25pm, I got no answer, the next day I tried to send him a PM but his box was full. In his profile it said his last activity was at 4:29pm, Jan. 23, 2007. 4 minutes after my PM to him. So I wondered, maybe he went on vacation for a couple of weeks. He had no activity on this forum either during that time. In watching his profile for the next couple of weeks, he never had any activity until Feb. 8th, 2007 at 1:22pm, so now I knew if he was out of town he is back now. But I had no response to my PM.
In the meantime I heard that Gil posted alot here and I joined and sent him a PM her on Jan 31, 2007 at 5:03pm. No response from that one either.
***Edited information about father by request and I apologize for involving him, Gil has apologized and said he will send the money***
No response to any of this, it looked to me like Gil was pulling a disappearing act.
Some may wonder if this is all just clever photoshop work on my behalf.
I will gladly give my login password to a moderater for Colorado4x4 access and they can confirm those PM's are in my box in their original form (except for the crossed out address)
I would welcome Gil to post up his side of the story.

This is a guy who I met on the trails once and he was helpfull to a buddy. He also posts alot on the small forum that my club operates rockfrogs.org. And I had heard enough in his past posts to feel that he's someone that I could find if there was a problem. Not a friensd obviously but not a stranger either. After all I felt it would be really dumb of a person who posts as much and as many places as he does, to write a fellow member a bad check and not make good on it.
But still I admit, I am a dumba$$.

ADVANCED NOTICE:
The only people that should be saying anything here are people with something legitimate and relevent. Random people's comments and insults are not neccessary and are not helping. If you are not involved, please do not pour gas on the fire until the other 1/2 of this can reply. The purpose of this is to RESOLVE the problem and PREVENT further problems, not to have a whine-fest.
I will start deleteing replies and E-Slapping people who stir the pot. You've been warned.

Thanks to the fairness by the moderators.
Many forums worry about the legal liability of posts like this and I applaud that you are willing to let the facts come out.
I wouldn't expect any resolution anytime soon. There has been no activity by SuperGildo@RRP on this board for 3 weeks. But maybe he'll hear about it and post up his side of things.

I should think he will. I have my differences with Gil but this is not something I would have predicted. It's possible to get in "over your head" with things though and end up "short" -- I bet it's happened to all of us.
However, it's better to communicate in those situations, even though it hurts the pride a lot -- ask me how I know, lol.
Glad it's getting resolved, and very happy to see it addressed here the way it has. Good job!

Please let me know if you do not get your money! GIL bought those gears and tru trac for me and i have them in my garage.
I sent him 200$ via paypal so that he could ship them, I knew he got them for 170 from you.
As for the disappearing act i heard he was in Washington, DC for a week or something.
hopefully he has a good excuse for this delay!

Gil provided a picture of the money order and a overnight delivery receipt, both dated 2/12/07 that he sent to the address I gave him in an attempt to make good on his check. But I mistakenly reversed 2 numbers when I gave him my address so it was not delivered and is being returned to Gil.
He is going to resend it to me when he gets it back.
I'll post up once I receive it.
Thanks,
Terry

Update from that previous thread.
The money has still not arrived.
So I sent a PM
The first quoted PM from Super..... was on 2/20/07
Now to be fair he did send a money order to the first address I gave him which I had mistakenly superimposed 2 numbers on.
I'm reasonably sure he did send it because he posted that he was told it was returned because of a faulty address. And he wouldn't have known it was a bad address if he hadn't tried to send it. That was about 2/12 that he tried to send it.
So 2/20 he sent me a request for correct address, and I sent him my work address.
Still hadn't seen anything by 3/1, so I sent another PM to Gil.
Now the day before I sent the PM, Super... had posted 16 times on CO4x4 2/28, since then nothing and no activity until 3/3. Makes me wonder if he gets e-mail notification of when he's sent a PM, see then he knows to avoid that site.
But I didn't want to make a new post until I did what I could to make sure he knew I was trying to contact him again. So after I saw that he had activity on CO4x4 3/3 at 8:14pm and should have seen my PM, I thought i'll send one more PM and if I don't hear from him, then it will be time to post. But, his PM box is full again. I'm not gonna send an e-mail because I don't want my return e-mail address given to him. I don't have his phone number.
So I don't mean to be crying about it to you guy's, but I think those who might do business with him in the future, ought to know!
My next steps will be to really go all out exposing this guy and his actions on all the forums he frequents.
