Hurst shifter, white **** (pics)

I installed my shifter exactly a month ago tomorrow, so I just thought I would write a review of what I thought after the "OMG new part" feelings wore off.

Installation:
Installation was simple with the provided directions. I have a 4x4 with the cupholders so I had to cut two frills off of the bottom of the provided Hurst boots. I had to take the cupholder mounting plate/inner boot and cut four lines running from the center to each corner to allow the new shifter to come up through it. I also had to get longer screws to mount the cupholder to aforementioned plastic mounting plate thing. But none of the cutting modification are visible or difficult in any way.

Impressions:
I still love it! Every time I get in the truck I just want to row through the gears. With the stage 1 clutch and the short-throw shifter, it makes for a totally different trucks to bang gears in. Before, on a hard 4500RPM 1st-2nd shift, I could tell the truck didn't like it. Now it feels like that's all it wants to do (and with my straight pipe, the awesome exhaust sound isn't helping my gas mileage). The throws are short and precise, it feels a good bit more "solid" in its shifts compared to the stock shifter. They are a good bit shorter and take about 15% more effort, but it shifts consistently every time. I am a shorter guy (5'5") so with my short arms 5th is a little bit of a reach, but nothing to complain about and certainly not enough for me to bother making any kind of lengthening device. All of my friends that ride in the truck, even the non-car people, comment on how good it looks.

Overall, I'm still impressed with it and it makes the truck a lot more fun to shift hard. I would buy it again without even thinking twice.

Promised pics (minus cupholders, I need to get some pics with the cupholders back in):

Haha, no. I actually ordered the whole shifter unit for my '04 (which came with the black ball) and just a shift handle for my '90 truck together (which came with the white ball). The '90 has a T5 out of an '88 T-bird T/C, so it already had a Hurst short-throw shifter but the offset handle was both ugly and it hit the seat in 1st and 2nd. I tried the black one in the '04 and the white one in the '90, but I like it the other way since the '04 is the pretty one of the bunch and the '90 is the sleeper.
