This past friday I got a truxedo bed cover. It is simular to the acess cover Neil has. It has velco on the sides and is mounted in the front by the cab and latches back by the tailgate. There are 3(I think) surport bars that are velcroed to the cover so when you roll up the cover the bars roll up with it moving the surport bars out of the way.

I am very happy with it. I choose to go with a soft cover because I have a flareside and I think caps take away from the sportyness of the flareside, plus you loose the use of the step on the flareside to get into the bed. I was considering a hard flat cover like gophers ******* cover. I decided against one of those because well I am still kind of moving stuff from my moms house and since I have recently bought a house I am always moving or buying something big that does not fit under the bedrails. It was really nice just yesterday I bought some stuff at Home Depo and it all didn't fit under the bed so I just rolled it up and loaded everything in.

I never really liked soft covers until I saw Neils with the velco down the sides. Really with it mounted in the front and latched in the back the velco only keeps the sides sealed.

So far only having it a few days I am very very happy with it, no complaints.

I am happy to report I have seen a improvement in MPG, maybe 10%.

 

What does a setup like that set you back? Sounds like a premo cover..

 

I think it was about $440 before tax, tax and installed was around $500

Yeah well umm, thats what credit cards are for. It is not leather, its a weird material the same stuff that dump truck covers are made from. They had a little demo of it at the place I got it from, and I could not tear it for nothing. Another thing I like the way it is mounted in the winter when it shinks there are screws to let more material out to it still fits and is easy to get one and off. Can't forget the velco no more snaps !

I think I spent $100 worth of taxes and install.

On that link the starting bid is $385 and buy it now is $494, so I don't feel so bad. even at $385 after shipping its not a whole lot cheeper.

 

i got the same bed cover. For $400 installed though. Its a great cover and would get nothing else.

Thats not a heck of a lot less than my fiberglass cover, and with the quick-release hinges, its VERY easy to pop the cover off when I'm handling large cargo.

 

oh then thats a pretty good deal, wish I would have know that before i got mine, but either way I am happy with it.
