Tonneau Cover Opinions

Need some advice. Going to purchase a soft, snap on Tonneau cover for my 2004 4x4. Have narrowed down the choices to either a tonneaumasters or an extrang black max. Any opinions on which company makes a better product would be appreciated.

Before you decide, take a look at the Truxedo, you can get it through site regular Charles at www.wholesalemn.com. If I were wanting a soft cover I would heavily consider that one. He sells a few other brands too, but I think Charles has a Truxedo on his own Ranger.

I have a truxedo, way way better, no snaps, and I can use it in the winter when it shinks, it adjust to make it longer for the winter months when it will shink a few inches. It mounts in the front and clips in the rear. the support bars are velcoed to the cover so they roll up with the cover. I think mine was $325 and $40 instalation.

Yeah Ben's truxedo is a nice cover. Real easy to open and close. It takes all of 3 seconds. And closes up tight.

Extang leaves some to be desired.

Stitching does not hold up (on 97 F150 for 3 mos, going back to them).

Thanks, yeah its nice, I am very happy with it, Neil's cover by access has a few features my does not and was not much more money.

Mine sits above the bed rails a few inches, and if i take the support bars out, I can close it with somethinng sitting just a few inches above the cover

I just bought a Truxedo Lo Pro. I paid $450 for it and it has a life time warranty. It also is self adjusting for all of the temperature changes it will see. I was never a fan of soft covers, but I couldn't see spending close to a grand on something hard. I am completly satisfied with this cover. I was kind of worried about water getting in, but I haven't noticed any leakage yet. I have only had it for a week now so I can't make any gas mileage improvement claims yet. I am not expecting much, but I can only hope.

If you want a tonneau cover that will stand up from years of use, check out an access (Lorado) cover at www.truckstuffusa>com. I've had two, one is on a 94 Ranger which I traded off, and the other is on my current 2001 Ranger. As for quality, they stand up to all the temperture extremes. Trust me, living in North Dakota I know, temps go from 100 to -30 below here. Best of all "NO SNAPS" you just unlatch - roll up.

I have had a Truxedo for two years now looks perfect and no complaints, it is the best cover iv owned, i only wish i had gotten the Plus model, which has the tool box intregrated with the cover.
and what i really like is how the bows roll up with the cover.
check out there site for info. www.truxedo.com

THIS IS EVANS truck. I have the same cover also just not on yet. I vote the extang Full tilt 10 year warrenty on everything. and really think about it most people wont keep the ranger over 10 years so its enough warrenty. it tilts just like a hard cover and also unsnaps and rolls up like a normal soft and so you can remove the outer part intact in minutes

I'm pretty partial to my trifold cover (similar to here ) its just like redneckstones' but it folds so you don't have to take it completely off, or you can pull it of it 2 secs. I love it.

I'm on my second Extang Classic here (traded the first one away w/ my '99 Ranger). I put both covers through hell and back and they've done fine. I love the cover, at ~$175 I wouldn't consider anything else..

Just use the same car wash soap that i use on the rest of the truck, dri it and then use a little 303 Protectant on it.

Truxedo. Mine was $360 internet purchase. It arrived with a broken clip (on one of the straps). One phone call and Truxedo sent me another strap, free.
