UPS IS STUPIDDDDDDDDDDD

I've shipped a few packages through FedEx and they've never let me down. Plus their rates are generally cheaper than UPS. I shipped an odd shaped item (a keyboard stand) without a box, just the ends wrapped up in cardboard and a shipping label on it through them as well and it arrived perfectly. Other large stuff as well like the keyboard itself, guitar hero drums, my first Xbox 360, an Xbox racing wheel, and a bunch of small stuff. Never a lost, damaged, or late shipment.
Andrew shipped me my axle shafts and disc parts via UPS and the box looked like it went through a hurricane. It was completely blown out, taped together sloppily, and had a hole the size of a grapefruit in the side of it. Could have lost a caliper in transit.
USPS has screwed me multiple times as well.

Alot of the claims made in this thread knocking UPS don't even relate to UPS in any way. lol Whoever packaged your box is responsible for how it shows up at your door. Your address being messed up, the supplier you bought your wheels from. Being in charge of the shipping/recieving department at lightline, I know how things work with UPS and FED EX. UPS is the better of the two. Fed Ex has a proven higher rate of lost and damaged packages. Of course every company has their mistakes, not trying to say fed ex sucks or anything like that, (obviosly UPS has its fair share of mistakes), but just informing the OP that his problem goes back to the original shipper. We are responsible for putting the address, name, phone #, size, and weight of the package on the shipping label. UPS just picks it up and brings it to the next stop down the chain. And also, you live in an apartment, you shouldn't expect perfect delivery everytime. Apartments are confusing when you visit 50 of them a day trying to find that one door out of 500.

If the shipper put the address you requested, which I assume was correct, why was a delivery intercept alternate delivery address requested?
