I would like to buy or trade for a cluster to match my new HVAC unit. I believe its an FX4 cluster. Here is a pic of what i want it to match.

Are talking about the ones with the the digital odometer? And you would have to have the dealer change the mileage if so

yeah, that would be the 03 ranger xlt cluster. not all got them, but it was that year only. i'm going to the yard tomorrow, i'll keep my eyes open.

Well, I have gotten one from the junkyard before and they charge like $23. I sold it for $40 I think to cover shipping and my fuel to get it. How's that sound? I'm not really about making a profit from people in here. I saw that one guy was selling it for like $80. That's ridiculous for a cluster.

I doubt I find one but we will see.

 

that's probably about where i would be. i don't think i saw any 03's on their inventory list, so it's doubtful i find one.

What year is your truck? I don't know which year they changed the clusters, but there's a yard I hit often that's got some 00 and 01 Expos, and a couple last time I was there had gray clusters, IIRC.

 

There is a “How-To” on chg’g the mileage.
Appeared straight forward when I read it.

Went out and chkd the stock, I have one HVAC Panel in Silver (gray as you call it) and the Gauge Cluster surround panel (w/opening for the gauges and the lights sw) that has a silver portion near the cluster but no Gauge Cluster.
I won’t be going to the JY for a month or two but if I see something I will pull it, they seem to sell well.

no luck here either, other than 2 more sets of seats.....i found my silver one on ebay.

This was the cheapest one. the rest ranged from $85-150.

 

Isnt it the same silver on your HVAC control and the sport trac cluster?

 

sport trac clusters are white. 03 rangers xlt's (including the fx4) were the only year and models to get the silver cluster.

 

The one I sold and the HVAC Panel came from an ’03 FX4 LvL II and I have not seen any others in the JY since.
I have pulled many white ones but the silver is not readily available and as drppdyllwrngr stated not too many Rangers had them.

If the days stay warm up here in the Northeast I might get to the JY sooner than later.
