Thanks.. Im going to price tire's tomorrow and possibly buy a set. I need tires bad. But i can't decide if i want 265/75/16 or 285/75/16. I was leaning toward's 285 but if they would rub bad i probaly just get 265's

keep one thing in mind, i don't know how often you guys use the metric sizeing, (275/75r16) but the first number (275-225-w/e) does not have a dirrect representation of the height... it is width of tire... the second number (75) is your sidewall height, so 265 (which is already quite wide) is 26.5cm across (not converting to inches, as i am at work, and lazy) 75 (75%) is 19.875 cm from rim bead to tire tread, multiply that by 2 gives you 39.75cm + 16 inches (rim size) is 31.649"

if you want height (especially if you are just going for looks) i would recommend going with a 265/85-16 as it will be the same width, but taller, and you will have less rubbing issues than a tire with the same height but taller, the 265/85 would be 33.736" tall. depending on where it is rubbing on the tire, if it's sidewall, this TALLER tire, would probably be better than the other... but this also depends on the type of 4x4ing you are doing... you can also get a 265/80-16 i believe, which would be 32.692" and have the same thing about not going to rub

265/75-16 = 31.469" tall
265/80-16 = 32.692" tall
285/75-16 = 32.830 tall, but wide, and sidewall rubbing is a greater possibility
265/85-16 = 33.736" tall

the difference in height between the 265/80 and the 285/75 would not be noticable, but there would be a big difference in rubbing, the 265 would rub much less...

go with 285's youll be fine in the rubbing department, maybe a slight rub on the sway bar but thats it and only at full lock, looks way bette than 265's as well

265's don't rub at all. 285/75 I can't comment on. Some people have put 33's on their trucks with a t-bar crank but i've only ever seen pictures, no actual experience.
