New Truck! 2001 Double Lifted

Just got a 2001 Ranger with 3.0 with a 5.5 inch Fabtech lift also has a 3 inch body lift!

only a 2wd

35 inch bfg all terrains in the front

35 inch bfg mud terrains in the back (brand new)

installed a apline head unit

and all new pioneer 6x8's

brand new windshield, mirrors, and headlight assemblies

Superchips Vivid Tuner!

K&N Filter

i love it! got it for only 2500 dollars and have probably put in around a thousand so far

and it has only 116k miles!

got 18 mpg on the freeway with a bed full of almond wood ;D but gets shitty city mileage

What do you guys think?

$2500 seems like a pretty good deal. What's wrong with it?

When I bought it it needed 2 tires, a mirror, a windshield, and fluid change so that was about 800-900 dollars but yeah stock gears and the tranny is pretty worn down

i'd go a tire size smaller. it'll save you wear and tear. looks like a decent truck.

regear that bitch! you only have one axle to do so it will be a lot cheaper. throw a locker in while your at it and maybe some belltech shackles to bring the rear up a little more cause your looking a little close to the rear tires there

Looks good man. Also I wouldn't waste time re-gearing as long as it still feels good driving. Pretty good deal on truck so I just don't think I'd invest too much $$ in it unless you plan on keeping it for quite a long time.

Also, if you do want to regear, you should make sure your axle is an 8.8 and not a 7.5.

He should regear if he wants his transmission to have any kind of life left in it. 35's blew the trans in my 4.0 4.10's truck.

Many many people have driven with 35s and stock gearing. Just cause "you"(nobody specific) drive like **** doesn't mean there will be issues for him. I drove with 35s and 4.10s from 2006 to 2012, so 6 years with no issues at all.

And the 7.5 doesnt mean much gearing-wise. Yes it is a weaker axle but I asked what axle because he should pick up a 8.8 then swap 4.88s into it.

3.73s with 35s and an auto tranny is a recipe for disaster. talk all the **** you want but everyone knows youre dumb as soup for thinking thats a legit setup.

hahah ya'll need to calm down. I'll regear to probably 4.88's or 4.56's someday with a 8.8 axle but for the time being its slow as **** BUT i've had no problems at all. Definitely wont be gettting an speeding tickets soon!
