Biltrite's SAS test.

Went with Koyn to test the SAS a bit today. A screwy rear locker, brake fluid leak, and no front driveshaft cut it short. It was still fun though. This truck is going to be very capable when everything gets worked out.

Not sure exactly, but it sounded like it was slipping or something. When it first happened I thought he blew the R&P. Could be excessive cam gear clearances in the aussie. Koyn said he was planning on a different locker anyways.

I wouldn't call it a wheelin trip lol. It was more of a 'find the SAS bugs' trip. You know, things like screwy lockers and leaky brake lines lol. Make sure nothing is binding up and what not.

Yes so far. Its a quality setup so he shouldn't have to many problems with it, but when he started losing the brakes it was time to stop the fun lol. He's gotta re-gear the rear and get front d-shaft and then we can really put it to the test.

Very nice rigs.

This has probably been asked and answered in another thread.

Is Biltrite full width? It looks pretty wide but I thought he had the 8.8 in the back

the front dana 44 is full width (65 inches)

the 8.8 started out at 59 wide, but the superior super 88 kit adds a couple inches making it 61 inches wide
I then added 1.5 inch wheel spacers making it 64 inches wide

I could have gotton 2 inch wheel spacers to make it 65 inches exact same as the front but I didnt want to

I dont know for sure, but it would slip and only one of the tires would be spinning, then I would let off the gas hit it again and it would work

it never did it with the 35's on alloys, I guess the 37 on steelies is to much for it to handle

I want to change it out any way because I dont want to grind any of the teeth on 5.13 ring gear to get the pin in

Im thinking about an OX locker, do you think your dad would be willing to help me get it set up?

lol...5 grand yes but not just on the axle its coilovers/tires/rims/steering box/steering shaft/radius arms ect.ect.ect.
Im probably over 5 by now, and still got to drop more on the rear and and drive shaft befor I have 4wd

I think you should try pulling the bedsides like the prerunner guys do. It's easy and basicially free and will make it match the front fenders more

You did 14" c/os right? I've been talking to zach and he said for the upper spring something like 350 lbs/ in and lower something like 250 lbs/in. Is that about what you did?

I did not want to move around abunch of stuff in the engine bay to fit longer shock hoops so I got 12's trying to keep it lower

but I went ahead and moved the stuff anyway so now Im wishing I would have gotton 16's and alot longer shock hoops

I got 250/350 spring rates and I am sitting pretty close to 50/50 travel
