Free trailer is finally done

A couple years ago my dad got a trailer as a gift from a neighbor. He built it himself using square metal tubes and the rear suspension from a car.

The trailer was always in my dads way, and it was too small for his PSD, so he decided to give it to me. My 4 wheeler fits perfectly inside and I can put my toolbox in their if I need the bed space.

The only things it need were lights, jack, fenders, and safety chains. All said and done I have less than $150 tied up in it. I think I'm going to go to a junk yard and find some cool wheels to replace these, the bolt pattern in 5x3.94, which is pretty common. I replaced a tire and painted it, here are the results

You should lift it and put bigger tires on it.

Not a bad idea. I measured the fenders and I can fit 33" tires. But I'll wait till I need new tires and maybe get some 31's

looks awesome! Home Built FTW!
i'm x2 on the bigger tires. That suspension set up is pretty slick, how does that handle with a load in it?

It trails perfectly. With me sitting on the 4 wheeler inside the trailer. You could even tell the suspension moved.

It likes to bounce a little bit unloaded, but nothing too bad. I've had it on the interstate doing about 75 and it rode smooth.

Looks good! Never heard of that wheel bolt pattern though... it'll definitely look even better with some different wheels!
