Exploring & Wheeling

I finally made it out for a quick overnight exploring trip. Not strictly wheeling, but checking stuff out. I went with my cousin who has a 99’ Tacoma 4x4 with rear locking diff. We had some fun and the pics below will show that. Nothing hardcore, but some good pictures nonetheless. He has a sweet Nikon DSLR camera! Toyota drivers are good for something! There are over 700 pictures. I'll post up some cool ones and more Ranger content.... rest are here... Picasa Web Albums - Jason - Bloody Basin ...

Airing Down (his check engine light came on right before we hit the dirt lol)

Elk burgers for dinner! I found that old rim and it worked good for my griddle.

Target shooting...

Flying Brass....

Wheeling.....

Too deep to cross so we pose....

Full gas tank Ranger lean.....kinda....

Up travel.....get some....

Best outhouse ever!!

Critter....

Best pic of all.....

Yeah that is barely putting it to use. Hopefully this week I can hook up with some local guys and run some moderate trails. Traction is amazing locked front and rear. Steering takes some getting used to when locked into 4 with the front locker.

Factory electronic locker. That truck got a little banged up underneath but still kicked ***. I remember the same always happened with my truck when it was stock height. Driving along and all of the sudden you hear a bang from bottoming out, a big rock or something.

I really like how it sits. I always go back and forth about it. Should it go up 2 inches or stay where it is at? I'll keep it where it is at until I have a reason to raise it a little, which may never come.

I agree, don't raise it unless you're having ride quality issues, it looks awesome!
How are the shocks? I would think you could benefit from some higher end shocks out there in the desert. Arizona has always looked like it would be a cool state to explore in a 4x4 for a few days (weeks?).

Oh and it hardly looks like you guys aired down at all!

I was aired down to 18psi due to some fast 40mph driving on dirt roads and a lot of traveling. The shocks are great to me. This truck has a solid axle with leaves and isn't made for speed even though it happens sometimes. I especially like the "squish" they make when going over bumps and things quickly on dirt roads.

If I could I'd spend weeks exploring the desert as there is so much history out here with ghost towns, mining, and indian ruins. Plus the amazing scenery is a bonus!

I went out wheeling tonight except my cousin has those pictures and I don't have them yet. When I get them I'll post up a new thread. I do have some flex pics too that I'll post up. I'm happy with the BFGs. Next will probably be the MTR/K.

I love Spring break!
